1. Was that the question about Indian tribes?
I watched that earlier today.

It's obvious that he has no idea what 'sovereignty' means.

6. C-SPAN?
This could be from this morning's Bush Q & A from the Unity Convention of Journalists of Color.

Bush was asked about native American tribal sovereignty. He obviously did not know what he was talking about.

The whole event was a disaster for Bush.

Check out the C-SPAN web site schedule to see when this is replayed.

7. saw it!
the questioner wanted a definition regarding Native American sovereignty and Bush's interpretation. He couldn't do it!!! After Bush stumbled pathetically CNN quit its coverage. FAUX was not covering at all, MSNBC carried it for about 3 more minutes. I had to go to our second C-SPAN channel. It was the UNITY convention. Smirk, as expected, completely botched the question and answer session. He tried to wise crack his way out of it but unlike the White House Press corpse, the reporters didn't fall for it!!!

8. From the official WH transcript:
Remarks by the President to the Unity Journalists of Color Convention

Q Good morning. My name is Mark Trahant. I'm the editorial page editor of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and a member of the Native American Journalist Association. (Applause.) Most school kids learn about the government in the context of city, county, state and federal. And, of course, tribal governments are not part of that at all. Mr. President, you've been a governor and a President, so you have a unique experience, looking at it from two directions. What do you think tribal sovereignty means in the 21st century, and how do we resolve conflicts between tribes and the federal and the state governments?

THE PRESIDENT: Tribal sovereignty means that, it's sovereign. You're a -- you've been given sovereignty, and you're viewed as a sovereign entity. And, therefore, the relationship between the federal government and tribes is one between sovereign entities.

9. I couldn't believe it in 2000 and I still can't now...
This MORON is president of the United States.

He has to be the most intellectually disinterested person I've EVER seen in public life.

Oh, and he likes to order mass murderer and torture too. Great combo in a leader.

22. Unfortunately...
the transcript can't illustrate the BIG pause he took when his brain farted that caused the audience to erupt in laughter when it was clear to them he had no clue as to what he was talking about.

It was s-w-e-e-t. :)

23. What an idiot....all he does is use the word over and over to define...
itself....

Jenna

"Hey dad, what does stupid mean?"

GWB

"Stupid is when someone is stupid and does stupid things. Therefore they are stupid."

Jenna

"No really, I didn't understand anything you've said. I am no clearer now than before. What does stupid mean?"

Secret Service agent whispers...

"Take a look at your dad".

17. so let's see........defining a word by using that same word.......
Edited on Fri Aug-06-04 01:18 PM by buycitgo
.......as the definition itself?

as in define halfwit

My older brother is a halfwit, but, despite his halfwittedness, he was chosen as the halfwitted leader of a party filled with halfwits. And, therefore, the relationship our federal government and its ruling party is one between halfwits.

or, define reckless: RECKLESS

define devious: DEVIOUS

define obtuse: OBTUSE

see?

15. More stupidity
Q So you support affirmative action, but not quotas.

THE PRESIDENT: I support colleges affirmatively taking action to get more minorities in their school. (Applause.)

Q That's a long headline, Mr. President. (Laughter and applause.)

THE PRESIDENT: I support diversity, I don't support quotas. I think quotas are wrong. I think quotas are wrong for people, and so do a lot of people.
