Bush declares war on himself
I just posted this to my blog, and thought it was relevant. Enjoy. :)

Just one day after his quote, "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we," the man I will now start referring to as Walker, Texas Dumbass has another whopper:

"We’ve actually misnamed the 'War on Terror.' It ought to be 'The Struggle Against Ideological Extremists Who Do Not Believe In Free Societies Who Happen to Use Terror as a Weapon… To Try to Shake The Conscience of the Free World.' "

Of course, this means that he's declaring war on himself, doesn't it? Consider:

- He's an ideological extremist.

- He believes in putting protesters in Orwellian-named 'Free Speech Zones', far away from his speeches, and in fact has recently began forcing people to sign statements of intent to vote for him before allowing them to enter his rallies, the AP is now reporting. Doesn't this constitute an attack against free society?

- He's certainly found new ways to harm our country and our people. See: Patriot Act, War in Iraq killing 900+ American soldiers and potentially boosting Al-Qaeda recruitment, over 1 million jobs lost (and current job growth not even keeping up with population growth) and seven million jobs below Bush, Inc. projections.

- In my mind, the terms war and terrorism are often essentially interchangable.

- I'm not quite sure what he means by "...To Try to Shake The Conscience of the Free World", but I'll take a stab at it. Maybe it means undermining international unit... maybe not.

Three more months.

1. What does he mean?
"To shake the "conscience" of the free world"? Did he mean "Confidence"?

8. Can't take full credit for that one, though
A friend of mine came up with it last night, ostensibly after watching Conan O'Brien. Brilliant, though. :D

4. Ding, Dong!!!
One of the best scenes in The Wizard of Oz is when Dorothy throws water on the Wicket Witch of the West and she begins to smoke and yell and scream and writhe and melt into a puddle. I can't get that image out of my head today when I think of GWB!

12. That's a pretty funny image
Rhetorically speaking, that could be exactly what's happening at this very moment. :)

5. He REALLY said that? O-M-G
'The Struggle Against Ideological Extremists Who Do Not Believe In Free Societies Who Happen to Use Terror as a Weapon… To Try to Shake The Conscience of the Free World.' "

I actually can't believe that he got all of those hard words out in one sentence, without any major screw-ups.

You are right, antiwarwarrior. He is struggling against himself and his regime.

As you pointed out: He is a ideological extremist, he hates our freedoms and our Democracy, and he terrorized Iraq and now uses terror to manipulate Americans into voting for him...

9. He really should start paying better attention...
...to what people are telling him to say.

7. And when did trying to "shake the conscience of the free world." become
a crime. It sounds like Bush is putting terrorists in the same boat as artists. As if anybody who tries to, as Joyce asked of himeself, "go into the smithy of my soul and create the uncreated consciousness of my race," is a terrorist (or more ominiously, should be treated as one)

11. That's worse
There's no way that can possibly be interpreted into a coherent statement.

Thank you, Walker, Texas Dumbass, for not making any sense. At all.
