If Kerry hasn't "shown up for work", how much time did Bush spend away
from Texas when he was running in 1999 and 2000? How often is he away from the WH these days? Does any one out there have these stats? It would be a good way to answer this silly attack on Kerry about not showing up in the Senate. I've heard this shit from Fucker Carlson, Bitch Novak and other assorted repukes
Then, of course, there's Bush's "vacation time" in 2001!

1. The difference is why Senators have a tough time being elected President
Governors and Presidents can do their jobs (largely) on the road (or perhaps with intermittent visits back to the office).

Senators MUST be in the room to vote on a bill or attend a hearing or committee meeting.

Plus, since the Texas legislature only works every other year (IIRC), the Governor isn't needed very frequently.

It's a structural problem. Any Senator who wants to hold on to his seat will get this criticism.
