The calm before the attack..............
all last week, starting on sunday no less with ridge's now boring alerts, we were subjected to a huge mind game. we've heard chatter, so much chatter, it reminds us of all the chatter we heard right before the first effective attack. and now, they say that the chatter has suddenly stopped, 'just like it did on nine eleven', so all weekend we can soak up the dread and the fear and let it set there in our heads for a while.

just like with a storm, gee, it sure got quiet didn't it? will there be an attack? will it be small or bigger than nine eleven? will it be a big city, or a small town? how will we react? who will we vote for to protect us?

if it happens, or if it doesn't happen, the effect is the same. dread, fear and subjugation of the citizenry. i'd rather just go ahead and be shot than have a man waving a gun in my face for weeks and months at a time.

87 days to go people. 87 more days of bushco and fear and hate.

1. So, let me get this straight ...
Increased chatter=bad
Decreased chatter=bad

We have always been at war with EastasiaEurasia.

2. 'we're turnin' the corner'
in the war on terra. yes, decreased chatter is very bad. and so is stepping on a crack in the sidewalk or walking under a ladder with a black cat.

3. The next attack is coming
The Next Attack
by David Rovics
http://members.aol.com/drovics/nextl.htm

The next attack is coming
I heard it on the TV
Some important politician said
We´ve got to drive them into the sea
Round up all the Arabs
Send them back from where they came
Who cares if they are citizens
They´re fanatics all the same

The next attack is coming
Said dictators west and east
And New York can not rest
Until all the rebels are deceased
So send along those helicopters
And we will shoot them all
And we´ll cut social services
And build a shopping mall

The next attack is coming
Said the CEO
So we need to drill for oil
And build more pipelines, don´t you know
If these Arabs do not like it
And we need the military here
The American people will support us
Whether out of greed or fear

The next attack is coming
I heard an Afghan child say
My family was killed
By a plane the other day
And when I grow up
I will get them back
So I say beware, America
Here comes the next attack

The next attack is coming
Said Cheney to his men
And if it doesn´t
We can make one happen again
Every war we´ve ever been in
Was started with a lie
And this war is good business
So today´s the day for you to die

5. Say it with me ...
"Another attack is not imminent. Another attack is not imminent. Another attack is not imminent." Repeat until you feel better. I mean, come on, if * said the sky was blue, I'd damn sure look out the window before I believed him.

6. they've assured us another attack is coming, but to continue shopping
we will not raise the alert level color code, but we are doomed. continue to purchase goods made by slaves in other nations and fill your hummers with expensive poison. cover your self in duct tape and wear a gas mask, but otherwise remain calm and continue comsuming goods and services.

10. People need to get some perspective....
.... even in the year of 911, you were 10 times more likely to die in an auto accident than from terrorism.

even in the year of 911, according to a recent study you would be 60 times as likely to die if you were admitted to a hospital as a Medicare patient, due to hospital error.

People who live in fear of terrorism have some other issues they need to deal with, like massive pussification.

11. i've rethought my dire predictions
i no longer fear a contrived attack by the "nike jihad". i no longer fear imposition of martial law.

i fear the american public is so cowed, so greedy, & so apathetic that the coup will be reinforced in november.

they may have to cheat in some swing states, but we have @least four more years of the dictator.

i still believe isolated liberals will be subject to mob attack. i fear protest will become a criminal offense.

i fear the 2nd depression is on the way. perhaps i shd begin posting "survival" tips?

12. I hope they televise the next war
it seems like we are all missing the best parts of this one. Sure, we were able to see the shock and awe, but what about the people being blown to pieces? The excitement of seeing a humvee explode from a roadside bomb? It's like a movie that you are allowed to only see the beginning of; a trailer maybe. I want to see destruction dammit! I want to see human beings murdered! Why put a war on if no one can see it?

What was the plot/theme of this war/movie again?
