The Peace Park Project: Veterans for Peace & Friends

Building the Iraq Wall

We are building a wall listing the names, ages, and hometowns of our young people dying in the Iraq War.

There is a ban on photographing their coffins when they arrive at Dover AFB, and no high officials attend their funerals. Politicians will not note their deaths, fearing the inevitable public backlash.

The American public opposes this war, but US policy is not determined by public opinion.

So, our young people die. The corporations profit. We sacrifice the youth of our nation in a pre-emptive war for oil, corporate greed, and world domination.

With every death, we will add another stone. It is our hope that public outrage grows along with the wall.

1. That's a worthy project.
I'm going to sponsor a stone.

My mind is running ahead with the possibilities of a "peace park." Outside of the beautiful memorial, it is the Dept. of Peace in action in a community, isn't it?

Thank you so much! I believe the city is also happy that a neglected park is being brought back to life. As you can see the stones are river stones which will be mounted in a stone wall. The park will be beautiful.

blessings to u LWolf :-):hi: :loveya:

on edit: speaking of a Dept of Peace, Kucinich won in this county, so that says something.
