Rumsfeld says Iraq security forces 200,000 strong
http://www.defenselink.mil/news/Aug2004/n08062004_2004080604.html

"They have gone from zero to more than 200,000 Iraqi security force members. We have a good team helping the Iraqis develop their security forces, training them, equipping them and helping them set up a chain of command so they can assume responsibility for their country."

What a fucking joke. In this latest fighting with the Shiites, has anyone heard anything about the Iraqi security forces participating? It's all the U.S., they've been promising for a year that they're handing the fighting over to the Iraqis but it's not happening.

2. Doesn't the US have a responsibility too?
Edited on Sat Aug-07-04 10:46 AM by HypnoToad
They shirked it when the looting of museums began, told not to interfere...

It seemed odd that, on multiple occasions, for a country we were 'liberating', our servicemen took every opportunity to replace the Iraqi flag with the US flag. The first two times the media made a feeble whimper and the flags removed, but later on we saw the insides of Saddam's palaces, with the US flag draped over the walls.

Not to mention all the oil * said would pay for this, yet hasn't...

Liberating them from their own property seems to be the US M.O....

4. They've fielded, trained and equipped two hundred thousand
security men in less than six months? Who the fuck do they think they're talking to? GOP MORONS?

We can't even keep up supplying our own troops with bullets. Donnie Boy has lost it totally.

Next we'll be getting daily bodycounts from the front.

5. RumsFool is a liar.
I've seen him in action -- at several Senate Committee hearings which were televised. The guy is a pathological liar. He knows his past is so strewn with falsehoods and fibbing, that there's NO WAY he can ever start telling the truth now.

Just imagine us, prodding reluctant Iraqis to hold a gun and point it at their own countrymen, whether of a different tribe or not. How long are they going to put up with that?

I think RumsFailed is trying to eradicate the Iraqis. The fewer people that are sitting on top of his oil, the better he likes it.

6. They may have 200,000 security forces
However, I bet that their training isn't anywhere near where it should be.

7. Remember Rumsfeld caught in a lie on CBS Face the Nation
"SCHIEFFER: Well, let me just ask you this. If they did not have these weapons of mass destruction, though, granted all of that is true, why then did they pose an immediate threat to us, to this country?

Sec. RUMSFELD: Well, you're the--you and a few other critics are the only people I've heard use the phrase `immediate threat.' I didn't. The president didn't. And it's become kind of folklore that that's--that's what's happened. The president went..."

And then there's the list proving his HUGE lie:
