This young man lives about 10 miles from me and when he came home from his capture, one of our members, a distinguised WWII POW who was captured at the Battle of the Bulge who lives here also with little recognition except from France paid him a visit. This young man dissed him and would not give him the time of day.

I just read in our local paper that he was on a suicide mission. He then retracted his statements. Now I see he is getting 7500.00 for speaking engagements and working for CNN as a spokesperson for the War on Terror. I applaude his service but there were two men in that helicopter. David Williams from Florida is receiving no recognition and was captured the same as Young.

I smell something here. I smell a person who is using his misfortune and service for gain. His book will be out soon and his Mother is coming off here in this area as a Stage Mother. I wonder what we don't know about this situation. The GOP is putting this fellow above all those others who were captured and honorably served.
Below is a picture of the WWII Vet who paid him a visit and got the brush. Did I mention the POW from WWII is a democrat?

8. Bush Family Evil Empire. More than a few darkside intel types more loyal
to the Bush empire than they are to the country. Plutocrats and theocrats.

Hannon is the producer for CNN who is in charge of all the politics. He is a right winger who has been connected to the Council on National Policy (LaHaye, Moon, et al) and the Heritage Foundation.

“I regret that some of the opinions expressed during the interview did not adequately reflect my true feelings, and I apologize for my poor choice of words,” Young said in the statement. “I wish to go on record to affirm that I am proud to have served my Army and my nation.”

On March 23rd, Iraqi forces shot down the Apache helicopter Young was piloting. Three weeks later, US Marines rescued Young, co-pilot David Williams and five other POWs.

In the article, Young is quoted as saying, “We were sent in for pretty much the wrong mission under the wrong circumstances.”

The article also said that Young called the operation in which he was shot down and captured a suicide mission

Growing up in Lithia Springs, Georgia, Ron Young, Jr. dreamed of flying jets since the age of five. When he learned he could fly Apache helicopters in the Army, he enlisted. On March 23, 2003, during his first combat mission in the Iraqi war, he and copilot Chief Warrant Officer David Williams went down with their Apache Longbow helicopter amidst fierce gunfire about 50 miles southwest of Baghdad.
The two warrant officers eluded the pursuant Iraqi soldiers for more than an hour, but they were finally taken captive and held prisoner for 22 days. Two attempts were made to rescue the pilots, but the fire was so heavy – “like a hornet’s nest” – that the efforts were unsuccessful. Finally, Young, Williams and five other POWs were rescued by the Marines. “That was awesome… beyond words. I was ecstatic… greatest day of my life,” Young said. He now shares his story of dedication, courage and inspiration with audiences nationwide.

Ron is currently working as a cable news special contributor for The War on Terror.
