I'm an environmentalist, a geologist, a "reformed" deadhead, and a single father working for 30 days on, 30 days off. Is it my fault that the country demands cheap, convenient power? I feel conflicted, punching holes here.

8 year old daughter, Ona-Rain. We went to Disneyland last May (my older brother, sister-in-law, and my two nephews live in Glendora). I'm just looking at this incredible sunrise over the Winds, and then turning the other way and seeing like 75 rigs out here, and it's wild. Did you look at the time lapse on uppergreen.org?

3. Living in the midst of contradictions

is just part of the human condition.

You may be drilling it, but trhe rest of us are burning it. I guess we all do what we have to, and feeding ourselves has to be pretty high on the list.

Change is never instantaneous, and can't happen at all unless there is an awareness of the need for change. Let's just say I'd a lot rather have you and a whole bunch of your soulmates out the rig than a crew of thoughtless despoilers who would fight against reasonable ecological controls. We all have to move as best we can to a sustainable future, but it's going to be a long, painful and frustrating process.
