Sorry - from Drudge (quoting next week's TIME magazine)

TIME MAG DETAILS EVIDENCE OF POSSIBLE AL-QAEDA ATTACK ON U.S. ‘This is looking more real every day,’ says senior intelligence official
Sun Aug 08 2004 09:59:10 ET

FBI official warned a congressional leader he and others could be targeted in Washington and on trips around U.S.

New York – An FBI official warned a congressional leader that he and other top legislative officials could be targeted by al-Qaeda in Washington or on their trips around the country, TIME has learned. The warning came two days before Ridge issued his nationwide alert.

Now, I know what you're thinking - this doesn't say anything about "Congressional Democrats" but rather "a congressional leader and other top legislative officials."

But after the unsolved Anthrax letters to Tom Daschle and others, my tin-foil hat is on.

... FOX News (All al-Qaeda all the time!) just also announced terrorists are going to use DIVERS to attack us.

Model airplanes...

Stuffed toy teddybears...

Cryptic warnings against "a congressional leader and other top legislative officials."

Democrats leading in polls...

1. What? No shrubbery this time?
Per a prior alert that warned us about shrubbery and "floating objects"

Nee!

2. Why would they warn them?
Wouldn't they want to LIHOP to get rid of the competition? Just a thought. ;)

4. Sometimes, like when I read your
post, I just sit back and wonder, "How in the heck did our country come to this?" It's just stunning. And even as a person who reads the news, and has been politically active for decades, it just amazes me. Yet I know that this reaction from the right is expected.

Wyldwolf, I have a question for you, and I probably have an idea how you will answer, but: what form of public demonstration(s) do you believe would be the most beneficial to the democratic cause during the republican convention? I ask for the obvious reasons. I have very real concerns about the potential for violence, and a right-wing reaction that restricts the constitutional rights of the public on a larger-than-anticipated scale. I'm curious what you think?

5. Dropaganda...
... I don't believe public demonstrations will be allowed to have the media coverage we might want so I would saturate the RNC convention - both inside and out and ultimately the city - with hard hitting pamphlets exposing the rightwing.

I would set up "viewing stations" (equipped with widescreens and DVD players)in key points of the city and outside the convention to show clips from movies like "F911," "Uncovered" and "Outfoxed."

Expensive? Yes. But I think, in the age of "First Amendment Zones," much more effective and would probably attract more attention.

I believe the traditional marching sign carrying protestor has lost effectiveness.

New tacticts are needed.

6. Or get an LCD projector
and show these films against the side of a building.

Set up a sort of roving guerilla documentary theater.
