Religion is getting prominent on our paper's front page...Graham/Bush ties
I suddenly started noticing it. Today the Billy Graham article takes up most of the front page. It also covers 2 full inside pages.

SNIP..."Perhaps one way of measuring the impact of this tall North Carolinian can be suggested with a story.

Nearly 20 years ago, he had a heart-to-heart talk with the 40-year-old son of a friend about the man's spiritual well-being. Within a couple of years, the man would later recount, he had given up drinking and became a serious church-goer. His newfound spiritual convictions eventually led him to seek public office.

The man's name? George W. Bush."
END SNIP.

Very long and involved articles, picturing Clinton and other presidents with Graham, saying how he made it popular to be evangelical again.

There are a couple of others I need to check out. Just noticed this pattern. Bush is in trouble, bring out religion. I did not catch on at first, but I don't like this.

2. Hi, 180! There is a place for things like this...in the religion section.
I was raised Southern Baptist, so were our kids, so for me to question the front page nature of this is really serious.

It does NOT belong on the front page.

So, how have you been, my favorite author? I have been thinking about quoting some more snips from your book. Just don't know where to post them. I seldom post in the lounge.

5. Hey madfloridian, how are you?
I think when any brand of religion enters the political arena it should not be relegated to the back page.

Quote away it feeds my starving ego. Hee hee hee.

3. Graham is just another grifter...
he may have more charisma than Robertson, Falwell and the other hucksters, but they are all the same. WASP Snake Oil Salesmen.

4. Gag me with spoon! As Richard Gere says
that he's learned..

"Don't trust anyone who thinks God is only on their side.. Especially if he's the president(sic) of the United States."
