2. Comment by Palast just now that I had not heard.

SNIP..."When I was with Michael Moore in Boston a week ago Thursday, some Dems gave us the low-down in a private meeting. Behind the scenes, Sen. Trent Lott agreed to give a few extra committee seats to Democrats (as majority leader, he has control), on condition they not raise a stink about vote count in Florida.

Was that a good deal? In the long run, it stinks because the votes not counted were Black - and white senators decided to go for their interests at the expense of the Black Caucus.
