IMPORTANT: Dean on CNBC-3am EST , Does any one want to talk about it?
Edited on Mon Aug-09-04 12:41 AM by Melodybe
Yes that is late, but that is what VCRs are for, this is the most important hour of TV, I have ever seen. It talks about everything this country is facing, in an intelligent and honest manner.

It has Dean, Jon Stewart, Bev Harris, Travis Smiley; it is most definitely something we should all watch once and try to get as many other people to watch it as possible.

I have my work cut out for me, some of my friends will watch it without question, others will kick their feet b/c they know how bad things are going right now. It doesn't matter, these are the most important topics facing us, they can not be ignored.

Anyway, I thought everyone did a fantastic job. Dean was actually pretty relaxed throughout the whole show, it gave me a different perspective of him. I didn't think it was possible to like and respect him more, but tonight he was in his element, and I was glad to see it.

Same with Jon Stewart, I have loved him forever and used to watch his Mtv show. His last guest ever was David Letterman, it was great. Letterman never does interviews, and him sitting down with Jon Stewart and giving a real interview was really a treat. I have loved Stewart since high school and he has only ever made me proud.

I didn't really know too much about Travis Smiley but tonight was a good introduction. He made me think a good deal about a lot of things, I liked the other guest as well but I don't remember his name. How often do you see a real conversation about race relations on television, it just doesn't happen and they talk about that too.

When Bev was on, I was so proud to be a DUer and it made me glad that I come here. B/c of this site I was able to thank her for all she is doing for us. We have to do something about this, I am going to start call all the news networks and demand coverage of BBV. I'll have a list up tomorrow of the networks phone #'s. I encourage people to call, if anything it is a nuisance and wastes their time and money.

Margaret Cho is pretty funny and I was glad to see someone standing up for gay people, no one ever does. Big thanks to Margaret for all of my gay friends.

It was so wonderful to see something on tv that made sense for once, everyone was calm and everyone got to speak their minds. I have never seen anything like it and I look forward to the rest of the week with Dean.

So just a reminder to anyone interested, please tape this, showing this to other people makes our jobs so much easier. Also it gives me a lot of hope to know that people as thoughtful and intelligent as they are, are on our side.

:pals:

Take care Duers.

To the next 2 1/2 months, may they be filled with wisdom and justice

:toast:

1. Hi, there are a couple of other threads as well.
It was a great show. There is one in GD2004 which does not move as quickly. I was very impressed.
