So, did you cower in fear this weekend, or go fishing with dad?
did you cover your windows with duct tape and dust off your gas mask this weekend? or did you, like our fearless leader, hit the water and tool around kennebunkport in a highspeed power boat with lots of secret service agents in tow?

is this the proper behavior for a president who constantly reminds us that we are all about to be hit hard by killers? go boating for the weekend instead of cramming over intel and consulting with experts? piddling around the harbor instead of going into hyper-super emergency mode?

this vacationing behavior of our president PROVES that these chronic terror alerts are phony political tricks. if he can relax and fish and waste time under a terror alert, so can we. i see the president is not worried, why should we be?

1.  * gives new meaning to the word vigilante
OOPS, my bad -- I didn't say that I meant "vigilant."

2. Well since he did that also before 911
What makes you think he would give a hoot now?

3. Let's see...I took my son to a birthday party,
staked a tree that was leaning in the front yard, bought a new wireless router since my old one died, made a couple of killer pots of espresso with my Bialetti stove-top...

Didn't get a chance to fire up my $750,000 power boat :eyes:

I love that he is having to defend his political use of terror alerts. Then if he LIOHOPs another event to "prove" the alerts were sincere, he can no longer claim to be Big Protector Georgie.

The dumbshit painted himself into a corner.

4. Well I did cover my windows with tape, but that was
because I was painting.
I paid no attention at all to the news this weekend.
I refuse to allow bush & his minions to have any more control over my life. I will not listen to their bushit fear mongering.

5. What did Jimmy Carter do..

...when there were 100 hostages in Iran? He stayed in the freakin White House and worked and tried to do something constructive. At least he tried. The American people will never forgive Bush.

7. Was I supposed to?
Somehow, I never hear those "terror alerts." I guess deleting tv news from my life, as well as almost all radio, has that effect. ;-)

Saturday, I went for a long, peaceful trailride with a couple of friends up into the mountains, gave my horse a bath, and went grocery shopping. I spent Sunday with another group of friends; we had lunch, gossiped, caught up on each other's lives, and made plans to meet for dinner Wednesday night.

I didn't know I was supposed to be locked down at home, quivering in fear.

8. I was doing sentry duty on the NJ coastline
I even incurred a serious injury in the line of duty...I got bitten by a greenhead fly. Raise the terra alert threat to red, the flies are obviously WMDs sent by the terrists to torture us for our freedom.

9. My family and friends went to the lake for the weekend
and all had a great time. Lots of pitching horseshoes and just lounging around, taking the boat out and enjoying the good weather here in northeast Oklahoma.

11. We went to see Edwards.
Hmmmm, we are in so much danger that they packed the place with people. No searches, no questions, nothing to sign. Backpacks were allowed, umbrellas (they said no umbrellas in the paper) were carried in, cameras, video cameras. Yup, crammed in there and it was anything but scary. Lots of secret service but they would smile if you smiled at them. I guess most of us forgot to be afraid, oops.

12. I refuse to cower in fear - I'm flying this coming 9/11
I'm still trying to convince my wife that she shouldn't live in fear - too much Laci Peterson, Kobe Bryant, etc, has her thinking America is a terrible & dangerous place to live (she's only been here for 5 years now)

That said, we're flying across the world on Sept 11. My thought is that our security will be extra-vigilent on days like that.

13. We went fishing and
gave our catch to an elderly lady who chooses between prescriptions and food each month.

If bush thinks a terror alert will make her forget she's hungry, he's wrong. She's voting for Kerry.
