Don't make Major Purchases until 11/3
If you can hold out, do not buy a house, a car, or any other major ticket items until 11/3. That is my way of ULTIMATELY helping our economy. That is when we will have a new administration that will truly care about improving it. Kerry On!

3. Good point, disempower them of your life force and money
Besides voting, it is important until that nov. 3, to do as little
as possible with anything that puts energy, or money towards repukes.
Push them out of your mind, delay paying taxes, avoid touching them
or any activity which they can suck in to their vacuum.

They drain us to survive, don't give them the opening.

10. Um, the idea is to buy their products AFTER the election.
And no-one's required to buy their stuff, anyway.

5. Not a problem for me
I don't know when I'll be able to make a major purchase again. I have genuine and justified "lack of consumer confidence".

6. How about a T-Bone steak?
Edited on Mon Aug-09-04 07:37 AM by BiggJawn
That qualifies as a "major" purchase around here....

I got a better idea: Buy NOTHING until after the election! Not even FOOD! (like most of us couldn't stand to lose a few pounds anyway)That'll "send a message"...

And just what do you propose to accomplish with this boycott? Send MORE US jobs to China?

9. Talking heads always quote
consumer confidence in spending on major ticket purchases (primarily new homes/new cars)....they cite this as either good news/bad news for the administration.....I'm assuming your steak comment was tongue in cheek.

11. No, it was serious.
No new home/car on MY radar for the next several years.

Do I need to give you an Economics lesson on what it's like to be part of the "Working Poor"?

I'm planning on buying a used car (it'll be new to me), but I am going to hold off until after the election :)

12. Here we go again...
Why do you people buy into this kind of foolish talk. It is only fodder for our enemy to say that we hate America and wish for the economy to fail. I cannot stand Bush, but if I had the money, I wouldn't put off anything just to see him defeated. I'd rather have the economy strong with health care for my family and that is a wish I have regardless of who is in office. We can win this election without wishing for our country's demise.

14. not to fail/only to stall
for 12 more weeks and then to flourish for the next four years...anyway, this is just one person's opinion. I didn't expect universal agreement. Kerry On.

18. It is a way of voting, eh?
Of course, one could simply express to any salesmen he encounters:
"I will hold off on making such a purchase until I am assured that Kerry will be in charge of the country. I don't trust GWB, and fear him being elected, because everytime he lied, people died."

Let the salesmen carry the burden of knowing GWB is bad for the country. Let him carry the message to his boss that people are afraid of four more years of the same bushwacking we've lived under.

Then again, if you know the product provider is a supporter of Kerry, make the purchase! Support Democrats, deny the pukes!

19. Great idea.
Stick it to Wall Street. You can also change your shopping that you have to do from Wal Mart to another store. Wal Mart sales just rose 2%. That's enough for thugs to spin with. Go to the dollar store. Also if your unemployed, go down to the emplyment office and demand they COUNT you. this employment numbers are WAY off.
