F/911 Edited?
Hi everyone.

I finally got off of my lazy butt and saw F/911 on Saturday night. Even after being open for however many weeks now, here in San Diego the theatre was packed.

During the film when Bush is quoted as saying "It would be easier as a dictatorship, no doubt about it" they did not finish that quote as I've heard it: "...as long as I get to be dictator."

My question: does the film contain the complete quote or does the "as long as I get to be dictator" just not get included in the film?

Thanks in advance

Steve

1. Still haven't seen it, but here's one original source for the quote
I know -- I should have seen F911 already. We never get out of the house. But I will see it. Already ordered the DVD.

In any case, here's a copy of one occasion Bush said this:
http://piratevideo.tv/MOV/BushDictatorStatement.mov

He's said it a number of times. He seems to think it's as funny as when me makes a joke out of 9/11 being a 'trifecta'.

2. I know about the quote.
I'm just wondering if the local theatre edited out that portion of the film.

3. I really doubt it.
They need to return the film to the distributer, and they'd have to find the section of film to cut, splice, and then re-splice it back at the end of the run.

For what it's worth, the previews at the beginning are added by each theater -- they get these little rolls of film, and sometimes suggestions from the distributor as to what kind of previews or in what order they ought to be shown. Anyway, they're spliced on to the beginning of the reel, then taken back off when the film is leaving.

I mean, it's not beyond the realm of possibility that your local theater owner would be sufficiently motivated to cut one small snippet out, but I really doubt it.

4. What you say makes great sense
but I cannot understand why Michael Moore would leave out such a condemning statement from Bush.

5. I think altering it like that would case actioable harm to Moore
I think Moore could sue the crap out of the theater. It would also be way more trouble than it would be worth IMHO. He would be more likely to just not show the film at all.

6. It was there...I saw it a long time ago but he did finish
"As long as I could be dictator" or around those lines.

I clearly remember F 9/11 did show it mainly due to the audience GASP that you could hear after it.

7. We saw it last night
in the Orlando area. "as long as I get to be dictator" was not said. Hmmmm. Wonder if it's in the DVD.
By the way, although the show wasn't packed, say only around 50 people, the audience, at least 50% senior women, (not there as a group either) and the rest applauded at the end of the movie.
