Is it over the top to suggest Bush administration....
complicity in allowing a "terrorist" incident to occur to sway or cancel the election? Consider the following...

The recent history of White House lawyers passing memos back and forth reasoning away long-standing and widely agreed upon standards regarding the treatment of prisoners (aka the Geneva Conventions) and justifying the Abu Graib torture of otherwise innocent people, including children.

The very recent announcement of the arrest in Pakistan of a one Mr. Khan, who as it turns out was a mole for the West inside Al-Qaida, that for politically expediant purposes was offered up by the Bush administration as proof of its success in fighting the "war on terror".

The outing of CIA agent Valerie Plame as punishment to Joe Wilson (and an example to anyone else who blows the whistle on these fascists)for telling the truth about Iraqi procurement of uranium from Niger.

From the very beginning, this administration has lied with such ease it became second nature. Their shananigans started with the cleansing of Florida's voter rolls. And so it goes from one lie to the next. Spinning a web of lies on top of yet still more lies. From PNAC manipulation of intelligence (Office of Special Plans) to launching an unprovoked attack on a country with conjured up "evidence" scaring the American people with faux alert levels.

Not to mention the entire history of US foreign policy with its periods of imperialism and "good neighbor" policy periods. Can you say "Operation Northwoods"?

If Ray McGovern is concerned, at what point do the brain-dead reactionary flag-wavers on the right become concerned about creeping fascism?
