1. The piece that they just did
was a classic.

None of these people will have a voice at the Repuke convention. Hit the nail in the head.

you DO realize what that means? when you cant even outargue a comic?

the Daily Show is the only media-sort of that is telling the truth. If you want "fair and balanced" go back to the the Faux news

37. The whole bit with Kerry on the bicycle was pretty hillarious
But when he makes fun of dems he makes fun of stupid little things that they do. When he makes fun of Republicans it's about stuff that actually matters.

He's brilliant, and cool. We're so lucky to have had him for two terms.

And thanks for posting that quote. I couldn't hear what he said. Perfect!

20. Young voters elected Clinton?
ok, that's a non sequitor but that was an interesting statistic he cited. 1992 was the only time a majority of 18-24 year olds voted.

27. well,
young people tend to be more open minded, open minded people tend to care about those besides themselves, so by default, young people tend to vote Democratic, or liberal, or whatever.

there's nothing scarier than meeting someone my age (19), only to find out that they are strong republicans and strong bush supporters. some rich old businessman i can understand, he's got his business to look after, but some young college kid? it doesn't make any sense.

30. '92 was also the 1st year
Edited on Mon Aug-09-04 10:54 PM by rozf
'counter culture' got political - the Clinton MTV interview; Rock The Vote; Rolling Stone was still readable and covered the election w/ zeal. My daughter was 21 that year. She and her friends were politically engaged in a way I haven't seen since.

36. The greatest part is that Jon Stewart debunked the Veterans' ad perfectly
Edited on Tue Aug-10-04 01:29 AM by Hippo_Tron
"Well, by serving with Kerry, they mean that they served at the same time as Kerry, in Vietnam..."

BTW, I can't wait for the GOP focus group with the Evangelist, the Redneck, the CEO, etc.

38. Snoop and the Red Baron
Last night Stewart played snippets from the commercial;

"I served with John Kerry."
"I served with John Kerry..."

etc...

Stewart:

"A damning indictment, or it would be... if any of these men had actually served on Kerry's boats.

You see, these Vets happened to be in Vietnam at the same time as Kerry. So, they 'served with Kerry' in the same sense that Snoopy 'served' with the Red Baron."
