but I couldn't stand to watch.

Why do people like Alec Baldwin even agree to go on his show? If everyone would just ignore him he might go away, or at least remain a marginalized character on the right. Oh, I'm sorry, I mean in the fairy-tale world of his called the NO-SPIN ZONE!

You are correct in that if they refuse to acknowledge him, then there is no O'Lielly.

3. That's what I mean...
You could be the most thoughtful, well-spoken person in the world, and O'Reilly is still going to act like a jerk.

An appearance on the O'Reilly show is a no-win situation unless you just happen to be someone who agrees with everything he says in the first place.
