NYC tourism bureau to unveil "peaceful activist" welcome program
I found this in my e-mail box today. I love the idea:

NYC & Company has a free unique opportunity for your business to gain additional exposure with the thousands of ‘peaceful activists’ arriving in New York City for the Republican National Convention.

There is no better city than New York to speak one’s mind and have your message heard. NYC & Company is looking forward to welcoming all visitors, during the convention period, providing they are peaceful to New York City.

Please help us welcome these visitors by participating in a special savings program which will be available to activists through our website, www.nycvisit.com. Savings should be honored from August 22 – September 8 and redeemable with either a printable savings card activists can download from our website or with the Welcome Peaceful Political Activists button. Offers may be discounts or gift with purchase.

We especially encourage downtown businesses to participate as the major gathering will end in your neighborhood.

We are planning a press conference to announce this program and organizers will encourage activists to come to New York City with their placard and credit card! We hope you will help put New York City on the map by participating in this unique program.

3. It's probably not up yet

The organization just sent out the e-mail asking its member businesses if they want to be involved. They will probably create the page when they get responses from members. There are very cool restaurants, tourist attactions, theaters, and merchants who belong to this organization, so come back to the site just before the convention.

4. Cool, I'll check back later
Considering that protestors will outnumber delegates by 100 to 1 (am I correct in the number of delegates being around 5,000?), it would certainly behoove businesses to make them feel welcome.
