Just finished watching Big Dog on The Daily Show
I simply can not fucking BELIEVE we had a President that smart just 3.5 years ago.

It seems like a lifetime ago.

3. Loved his take on attack politics
said (paraphrase) 'each one is an opportunity' to clairify your position and the perfect time to hit back while defending one's self.

4. Many people....
like to have fun with Bush's goofs and the way he comes across as a total idiot....he is not a smart man and lacks intellectual curiosity...but the fact of the matter is, because he is a weak man intellectually it is hurting this country badly...that is why presidents have to be smart and be able to think quickly...this should be more obvious now than ever before.

10. We could improve on Bush by selecting a name at random
from any phone book in America. If fact, it would be very difficult to find anyone worse, even if you tried.

12. Oh, c'mon
poll after poll showed more people would like to have a beer or hang out with Bush than Gore. That was what is important. Let's pick a guy to run the free world on this basis. We don't need anybody smarter than we are. :eyes:

5. watched it last night
I noticed a couple of things that stood out to me.

At the beginning, when President Clinton (that drives the Rw'ers crazy) was talking mostly about the political dirty tricks the repukes were playing, he seemed a little ill-at-ease. Maybe it was geting used to Jon, who makes every conversation with a guest seem a little wierd.

Later, he seemed to settle in. When he was talking more about policy and issues and not politics, he was more at ease. As he said, he is not comfortable with "hating" opponents even after what they did to him. So, he concentrates, and does better, when talking about issues and government, not politics.

God, just think what he could have accomplished with a cooperative Democratic congress during his first couple of years. Just imagine what this country could have become if the repukes were actually interested in doing right by America instead of only caring about their power.

The opportunity lost is the biggest shame.

** This is from someone who still thinks that Bill Clinton is too conservative. But, compared with most other pols out there, he was a damn good combination of almost-liberal thinking and effective politicking - probably as much as this nation can tolerate.

Comedy Central - probably part of all basic cable lineups. IT's first run is at 11:00 pm. It is rerun several times, including 1:00 am and 7:00 pm the next day. Evidently, it is also on other times as well. Check out the Comedy Central website:

Enjoy. It is a fantastic show.

Edit - times listed are Eastern - sorry for my coastism.

11. if I were him...
I would be so angry at all the progress I made and watch it fall apart...as far as the deficit--and the division of the country...I voted for Clinton but I didn't sit and pay attention like I do now...but I didn't see the division until later on in his 2nd term??? do I even make any sense! LOL! dont' know but I still like the guy...I miss him

I almost wish he were our President when 9-11 happened I don't wish 9-11 happened but it did..and I just think if he were in charge there wouldn't of been 7 minutes of my pet goat...

14. Most notable for me was this quote
from a "Republican" (did he say "friend") of his? Whoever it was told him they HAD to go after him, because if they didn't he'd win everything all the time. IOW: they can't win on the truth and their policies. It's still true, too.
