Poll question: Have you observed that the Bush/Cheney drivers are the worst on the road?
My expeience is that they are always cutting people off (mostly in their SUVs), parking people in and trying to create accidents. I was wondering how many people have had the same experience with these people.

1. True story
I'm driving home, and I'm on the outer loop of the Capital Beltway, around the 270 split. Now, if you've never drove on the Beltway, splits are EXTREMELY well-marked. There are signs starting more than a mile back, and when it starts to get close, the dividing line becomes dotted rather than dashed, so you know which side you're on.

So, as I'm getting close, I see this white SUV swerve off of 270, over the section of asphalt which splits the two, onto the dirt a little bit, and then back onto the Beltway.

At this point, I was a tad miffed. I yelled (to no one in particular, since I was driving alone) "What's the matter with you? Can't you read?"

Then I saw the Bush-Cheney 04 bumper sticker. That answered my question.

2. I encountered one the other day
Edited on Tue Aug-10-04 02:27 PM by Carni
She was tailgating, weaving in and out of lanes, cutting people off...etc

I actually fell in behind the jerk and tailgated HER for a few miles I was so annoyed.

In any case she didn't like it...screamed, waved her fist out the window and flipped me the bird.

It was most gratifying.

3. What would you expect?
To these people, tax cuts now are more important than their children's future. They don't give a damn about leaving their children a mountain of debt, giving them crappy educations, or anything else. All they care about is they got $400 from the govt.

Why would you expect them to treat some anonymous driver with courtesy and respect when they don't even give a damn about their children's future?

4. They like to tailgate and speed up on your bumper.
I gave one gentleman the other day a good brake check when he flew up on me.

5. Saw a black H2 run an orange light a few days ago...
It was yellow, switching on it way to red as the H2 ran through the intersection. As it drove away from the intersection, I caught the all-too familiar typeset and pattern of a "Bush/Chenery 04" bumpersticker in the lower left corner.
The driver was also talking on their cellphone, too.

6. They love to drive slowly in the left lane of the interstate
and only speed up when you try to pass them

they are:

childish
selfish
and stupid

they are more interested in getting there FIRST, not fast, so slowing someone else down is equal to winning in their minds

they think it's a competition, because they think everything is about them.

7. Psycho hose beast at a fast food establishment.
Actually cutting across a parking lot to get to the place. I'm stopped at a four way stop and this woman goes around me as I turned, passes me with oncoming traffic in her lane and flies into the fast food drive thru where she is stuck fourth in line. The first thing I noticed was her Florida Pro-Life license plate. I made a rude gesture as she was hanging over her back seat ATTENDING TO A CHILD who had obviously fallen out of its seat....then I noticed the Boo$h/Chain-gang bumper sticker. All this madness because she didn't get HER FUCKING DIET COKE!

Values my friend.

10. I saw a minivan today
With a HUGE flag flying off the back - so big that they needed a real flagpole to fly it. Underneath was a sign saying, Don't like the flag? Call 1-800-EAT SHIT. On the side window was a sign saying, America - Love it or get the $&^@*&# out! I was afraid to look at the driver because it probably would've turned me to stone. The car I was in pulled off the highway just in time for me to see Flagmobile cut across 3 lanes of traffic to get into the far left lane.

12. OTHER...
Edited on Tue Aug-10-04 04:43 PM by arbusto_baboso
People with the little chrome Jesus fish on the backs of their cars are BY FAR the worst drivers on the road, with those bearing B/C bumper stickers coming in a close second.

Now, if they have BOTH the fish and the B/C bumper sticker, PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY and stay off the road until they leave the area! For your own safety!

13. sampling bias--there are too few Bush/Cheney supporters
If a Kerry/Edwards driver cuts you off, you tend not to notice the bumpersticker as much because lots of people are proud to display Kerry/Edwards bumperstickers.

If a Bush/Cheney supporter cuts you off, you notice the bumpersticker right away because it's unusual. Most Bush/Cheney supporters are ashamed of their team.
