7. I can't believe the rise

in puritanical/fundamentalist thought in our country. Even in the conservative town that I live in, it's becoming very creepy. Everyone seems to have warped into Ned Flanders, but not in the friendly way -- it's much more bombastic. I've passed by several shops with signs like "We believe in Christ" or other such writings posted in their windows. I don't care what others believe, and do consider myself religious (but not the in-your-face type), but all this seems very unsettling, very "southern baptist" like.

8. I'd love to have the local wing nuts post signs so I could avoid

patronizing their establishments. We could have avoided a recent restaurant misadventure. We're new in town and We went to the local "really nice" restaurant everyone recommended. Sat at the bar for a drink, and got treated to an anti-France diatribe, followed by the ever popular Antisemitic diatribe, and then they turned on FAUX news. We finished our drinks, paid our bill and sprinted out the door. Since then I have been trashing this restaurant to anyone who might even accidentally enter its doors.

It was a used car dealer and the sign was like this:
JESUS IS LORD
CASH FOR YOUR CAR
That was strange to me.
