*Bush's future VP pick is betraying this nation......
To see John McCain physically, and proverbially, hugging *Bush in Florida today, makes me want to vomit (last hour there was a picture of McCain hugging Bush on the N.Y. Times website. The pic is now gone, thankfully, but the story remains - http://www.nytimes.com/2004/08/10/politics/campaign/10CND-BUSH.html?hp).

But what are we to expect from *Bush's future V.P. pick?

You watch. Come the Repug convention, and with Bush's numbers in the toilet, Cheney is going to decline the nomination, because of "health reasons". After an effusive show of love from the convention for Cheney, Bush will tell the assembled that Cheney will still be a "special counselor" to him, and then, he will nominate McCain.

I'm taking bets now.....

John McCain betraying this nation. How can he go from being an uber patriot, and former military hero, to Bush's ass lick, completely fries my logic receptors, ESPECIALLY after all the nasty crap Bush did to him, and IS doing to this nation! McCain is either insane, or he wants to be VP REAL bad...

As an Arizona voter, I will now do all I can to see McCain is defeated for re-election. He no longer deserves the support of Arizonans, nor anyone else in this country!

1. McCain announced publicly that he will not be anyone's VP.
He has his eye on the President's position.

I don't understand that disgusting display of affection today either. It was a spooky picture, really.

on edit: I am talking about after the election here. Then again is McCain really enough to help * win?

17. Seems like he has eyes for the Chimp

Anyone that would lie and kiss ass like this can not be trusted.
I never liked Casper McCain.
Now I know why. He is a turn coat. Talks out of all three sides of his mouth.

28. Republicans LIE... He will if Cheney gets the boot
That would set him up for a run for President in 2008 but at this stage even McCain won't help Bush*. He is very disliked by more than half the nation.

If they were gonna make a move, theyd have made it already.

6. We'll see. I think they'll wait for the convention, so Cheney can
have his "love fest", and retire from there.

Bookmark this thread, and we'll see in a couple of more weeks.

10. No, if they switched VP's at the convention it would look aweful for them
They would look desperate and it would appear as bush dumping his core.

Cheney is a shot caller in this administration. He got that power and he isnt giving it up.

19. Poppy will see that Cheney

keeps his hand in the pie.

IMO ,at the Convention or just before it, Cheney's " doctore" will tell him that he needs to back out and rest a bit.

In comes McCain to save the party.

4. Sadly, this might be the explanation for McCain embracing Bush
McCain has used up any honor or respect due him. His schmoozing with Bush is so disgusting after what Bush did to him in 2000, that the man has lost any semblance of self respect.

If the McCain/VP scenario turns out to be true, I only hope that there aren't enough imbeciles that buy into it to put them over the top.

How that man can embrace the schmuck who slandered him, his wife, and their innocent adopted child, and make like everything's just ducky, is BEYOND me. What does McCain's wife think of all this? Has she been able to forgive this? If I were his wife, and they pulled that horrible rumor campaign about my husband and me, and OUR kid, I'd never forget it, OR forgive it. And we'd have a big fight every time my husband would go out to speak for him.

Attacking John McCain for his views or his record is one thing. But dragging his wife, their marriage, and one of their kids into it - QUITE ANOTHER. That's crossing the line. As a wife and a mom, I resent it HUGELY. He lost all credibility when he refused to turn his back on this moron.

Hey, McCain - you stand by this schmuck? That means you stand by EVERY dirty, underhanded, lying, scheming, manipulating thing he's pulled, or that others have perpetrated in his name. AT YOUR EXPENSE, PAL!

7. LOL!! BTW, I just sent McCain's office a scathing letter letting him
know he's lost the support of a large segment of Arizonans. Further, i think Arizona is going to go for Kerry this year, so McCain will have even more embarrassment to live down when that happens.

12. I e-mailed McCain
many months ago asking him why if as Dubya says and he says we are at war, there is no draft, there is no surtax to put the war on a pay as you go basis, and no laws against profiteering. Never received an answer. I summer in Oregon but live in Green Valley and am registered to vote in Arizona so I am one of his constituents.

27. Hello PsN2Wind
I live in Chandler, all the time, and McCain never responds to my letters and e-mails. The first time I wrote him I received the wrong form letter in return. Since then...nothing...nadda..zero...

I have no respect for the man....nothing...nadda....zero.

21. Gosh, will the media 'hos
replay this photo endlessly and make subtexual comments about how gay it all is?

That said: McCain as VP would give Bush an advantage. But it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world; certainly he'd be a better guy than Cheney. And if the unthinkable happens, I'd rather have McCain on board than Uncle Fucker.

Just imagine if we have a repeat of the Watergate era: the incumbent get re-elected, but goes down mid-term. (Plame indictments, lying to congress, prisoner torture.) Who's our VP? Somebody who's capable of decency.

I know, I know. McCain is a bad guy for stumping for Bush. But maybe he's trying to position himself to attain enough power to take the party back for honest conservatives. God help me, if this country were run by honest conservatives, it would be in a whole lot better shape than it is now.

29. If the unthinkable happens...
if you mean * going down after the election (assuming a worst case scenario in which he "wins"--then has to resign or is successfully impeached), I too would rather have McCain as VP than Cheney. In fact, it's the most plausible (and bearable) Plan C or D.

13. Desperate men do desperate things.
I can see your scenario unfolding. McCain will be a stepford wife as VP. Cheney will still be in charge. The only way to counter this would be if the economy continues to go into the toilet and Kerry's campaign replays what Bush did to Mc Cain in 2000. Otherwise I think we're toast and Mc Cain will burn in hell.

31. Something must be wrong with McCain
After everything Bush did to McCain, after everything he's done to this country, I just cannot understand how McCain can continue to support him. I used to think McCain was more of a "misguided" repub than a "crazy" one, but now I'm not so sure.

Either he really does have mental problems, or he's being blackmailed or something. I suppose the other possibility is that he's planning on running again in 2008. Turning on Bush now could mean he would be unable to get his own parties nomination, and he probably wouldn't have enough support among Democrats to get their nomination either (plus Kerry will be Pres. anyway, so their won't really be a contest for the nomination).
