2. I don't think I can watch this.....
This proposal is so limp, and includes the same insurance companies...... I don't see much difference.

GAK

4. It is.
I had to do a presentation on it last week. It's going to cost a lot because it doesn't cut down on the administrative costs. You have to eliminate the insurance companies and for-profit HMOs to do that. I don't think it's going anywhere because estimated costs are over 900 billion over a ten year period and it will just be shoved to the back burner.

I'm afraid it's going to be up to us, the grass roots, to push through meaningful legislation for a single payer national health plan. At least it will be easier with a Democrat in office.

3. HEY! Great news! "Health care in the US is obviously getting better,
because we're living longer."

That problem solved.

Next.....

Kanary, gawddess...... does it get any dumber than that????

5. You know Kanary. This is just political soccer.
Everyone is kicking the ball around, but no one is reaching the goal. When Kerry is elected, we need to pressure our representatives about what we want.

6. There are candidates who have had the guts to propose something
workable and REAL right up front.

But, OK, I'll just keep my mouth shut.

Not my problem, anyway.

7. Yeah we know who they were.
Unfortunately, they are sitting on the bench and not allowed to play anymore. How come it's not your problem anymore?

8. Actually, one is someone I voted for today.
And the DEM opposition is gloating that they are winning.

I'm sick to death of the whole mess.

Kanary, discouraged beyond words......

9. I don't blame you.
Here in California we are trying to get a health plan statewide, which is univeral single payer. With Gv. Groper in charge, it's going to be really hard to run the insurance companies out of here I fear.

12. Your guv sux, so does ours. BUT....... we had a great opportunity
to elect a fantastic senator....... one whose integrity and brilliance comes along about once in a generation.

His health care proposal wasn't perfect, but certainly workable, and WAAAAY above anything out there now.

But, the DEMS of this state decide to quake in their boots with fear, and go for the DEM who is *lite.

I'm sick.

I don't know of any other way to say it.

I'm just sick.

Kanary, giving up.......

10. Apparently from the amount of interest your thread is generating,
I guess no one else really cares. This is why nothing happens.

11. you got it!
It's ever so much more fun to dump on fellow Dems!

I've had my fill from one more crappy campaign, and seeing the attacks on this board sickens me.

I'm remembering why I dropped out of politics before, and why so many others have.

As someone I talked with the other night said, it's going to have to get a lot worse, and people are going to have to hurt a lot more before people are willing to change their approach.

Which means, those of us who are on the bottom rung will be paying the price for other's wake-up call.
