2. What? Why?
because it may not be accurate or because it can be annoying? Outlawing it seems awfully drastic no matter which of those reasons applies.

3. No push polls, less media focus on the horse race, and more on issues
no suppression of voter turnout based on poll-driven expectations.

4. In France...
no polling is allowed for one week prior to the election. I think one week is right, although it could be longer. This is a wonderful idea. All types of polling are included.

5. No, but phone vote solicitation shoul be.
I don't mind the phone polls. They're usually pretty short, and if they really bother you, hang up.

The thing that really buggs me are the phone calls (usually recordings) that solicit your vote. In 2000, I received 4 calls: one was Barbara Bush, one was GW, one was GHB, and the last one was some idiot I didn't recognize, all saying how great GW was and would I please vote for him.

I was ready to disconnect the damn phone!!! I even swore a few times, hopeing there was some kind of recording device that just might hear me.

I don't condone the Kerry campaign doing that, and I sure don't want the shrub campaign bothering me either!
