Spinoff: I went looking for what the bible says about homosexuality...

because like i said.. i am not a religous person at all so i dont know much about the bible..
but i like to hear all sides before i try to argue something so iwent looking and this is what ifound...
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (NIV): "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters, nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."
Leviticus 18:22 (KJV): "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind it is abomination."
Leviticus 20:13: "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

Still, there are so many versions of the bible with subtle translation issues and cultural ambiguities, it's risky to accept anything as absolute.

basically puts a drunk and a homosexual on the same level. I always use that one when debating someone who uses the Bible as an argument against gay marriage. According to the corinthians, drunks should get the same treatment. ;)

It mention's homosex in the same context and on the same level with such things as prohibited mixing of certain cloth materials.

that little passage got about 12 million men women and children burned and tortured to death in dark ages europe. a real holocaust over 8 words in an ancient book.
