The Realities of 9-11, Terrorism, Homeland Attacks and Terror Alerts ...
After many omninous signs and warnings, many of which the current White House occupants failed to respond, America suffered a great loss of life in the worst terroristic attack to strike the american homeland since Pearl Harbor, and the greatest loss of civilian life ever ...

From that moment: a rational people would gather their thoughts and opinions, and re-evaluate the facts that lead up to such a horrific and terrible event, and consider what would be the most prudent and reasonable approach to defending their interests, and their lives, from such a devastating blow forever into the future ...

A rational people would of course gird their homeland defenses, increasing the scrutiny of other possible avenues of attack, using their resources most efficiently and most effectively to forestall any future occurances of the type that took the lives of so many good innocent human beings ...

A rational people would develop a solid, mutlifaceted plan of statesmanship and international diplomacy to align and develop strong multilateral alliances with which to join forces against such heinous acts of murder, and would also maintain a solid military force by which to act against threatening states which promoted those acts, and which harbored those who plan and execute those attacks ...

From the morning of 9-12: a RATIONAL people would know:

1) We are not immune from attack from ideological extremists bent on murder ...

2) We can be attacked with nearly ANY possible means, in any place, and by those who appear on their face to be normal and friendly ...

3) EVERY public place is a potential target for attack; no matter where, no matter when, no matter why ...

After 9-11: There was only ONE 'Terror Alert' necessary: The one that tells rational americans that WE CAN BE ATTACKED ANY TIME, ANY PLACE, and in ANY WAY ....

We do NOT need to be told over and over again that 'We may be attacked' ...

We do NOT need COLOR CODED THREAT SYSTEMS ...

We do NOT need the Director of Homeland Security marching out of his fortress of solitude to tweak our noses every couple of weeks ...

The present administration, who did NOT do enough to protect america during the summer of 2001, is now doing EVERYTHING IT CAN to manipulate the people of their own nation by stoking their worst fears and purposely increasing the sense of insecurity, at a time when they should be doing EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to actually, REALLY protect the very lives of those innocent citizens they let down on the morning of September 11th, 2001 ...

Yes: WE KNOW WE MIGHT BE ATTACKED AT ANY TIME AND IN ANY PLACE AND IN ANY MANNER .... WE MUST be vigilent ...

So STOP trying to twist our collective NUTS, and DO SOMETHING that 'rational people' would do ... Acknowledge that a consistent threat exists everywhere, and acknowledge that it is WRONG to promote fear, for exclusive partisan gain, based on a threat we already know exists ...

A rational party of leadership prepares to defend their nation by the most effective and efficient means possible: they do not try to antagonize their own citizens by promoting fear and collective insecurity for political gain ...

1. Bush can't lose with Terror Alerts.
When the administration first issues a terror alert, alot of us say it's phony, it's just politics, etc. A week or two and loads of propaganda later, we're all a little nervous. Either nothing comes of it, in which case the administration can say they "protected" us, or something does happen, so we get all emotional, stop thinking, and support Bush.

2. We should be nervous ....
WE were attacked, after all ...

That said: We now know we can again be attacked ... We really don't need anyone to tell us this fact over and over again ... the threat is real no matter WHICH party leads .... the question is :what are we going to do about it ? ...

The Bush WH and the GOP are doing everything WRONG: they are promoting hatred and resentment by acting in irrational anger .... they are destroying old alliances which we NEED to promote our own defense ... Kerry will regain the initiative by re-establishing those sturdy alliances ... and thereby increase our security by aligning our efforts with those of other western states, as well as moderate muslim states which COULD and SHOULD be involved in the worldwide effort against terror groups ...

Yeah: the threat exists .... we dont need someone running around screaming it over and over again to know that ....
