1. This is a really stupid idea.
I'm beginning to think they're losing the hearts and minds on purpose.

3. Heard this stuff before in Fallujah.

I'll believe what I see happen.

Not saying the coalition won't try it, but I think there
is some question whether they have the wherewithal for an
"all out assault" on the city. Bombing the shit out of it,
maybe, but that won't accomplish anything but making a lot
of dead people.

12. You remember what happened in Fallujah?
We wound up turning over Fallujah to one of Saddam's former henchmen rather than go in.

8. Concern for soldiers and Iraqis is not mutually exclusive
and it is normal to worry about relatives and friends in harm's way. So back off.

10. Welcome to DU.
There are a lot of us praying for all our troops.
A friend's husband just got back from Iraq. Even thought he was not badly injured physically, he will never be the same mentally or emotionally. He has seen to much.
They are both are very active in the local democratic party.

11. Thanx for the welcome and....
support. I know these are hard and scary times for those of us with loved ones there.

And yes 8643 in my prayers i include the Iraqi's as my higher power knows they did'nt want this nor ask for it. It really hurts me to see the women, childeren, and the old suffer.

I was against the war from the beggining as i know war is never pretty, and the innocent suffer just as much if not more than the guilty.

Lets just always hope theres something positive to salvage from a bad day.

14. Ive got a friend in the Marine Corps
He's getting shipped to Iraq right around this time. But hell, if anyone can do it, its the Marines. Now is a very nervous time, we all should pray for them.

15. Another "liberation", another stack of bodies.
Perhaps another appearance in a flight suit to announce "Mission Accomplished".
