Robert Kennedy, Jr on "fascism"
"While communism is the control of business by government, fascism is the control of government by business. My American Heritage Dictionary defines fascism as 'a system of government that exercises a dictatorship of the extreme right, typically through the merging of state and business leadership together with belligerent nationalism.' Sound familiar?"

-Robert Kennedy, Jr.
"Crimes Against Nature," page 193

Note: This is a book that the major medias are not allowing to be promoted on. Kennedy is either not allowed to appear on some shows, or is "restricted" from being able to openly discuss his message on others. Please buy and read this book! It covers environmental issues, including the quality of the food we eat, in as explosive a manner as Michael Moore's "F 9-11" covers 9-11 and the war in Iraq.

19. heard him on Sirius
I listened to him on Sirius, Saturday mornings, he was terrific! I was surprised how aggressive he was toward the one guest last Saturday, a guy from "ClubforGrowth" a group sponsored by republican elites and RFKjr let everyone know it.

2. i'll check it out in september.
i'll be wanting to read it when i return from 10 days camping deep, deep in the heart of the Frank Church Wilderness River Of No Return...

http://www.forwolves.org/ralph/wpages/frank.htm

leaving on saturday morning the 14th!!!

my camping buddy is quite an environmentalist. i look forward to seeing some amazing sights and, unfortunately, learning some very nasty truths about the state of our environment. it's easy to see the destruction in a huge, wild place like Idaho.

last summer we went camping in idaho, i noticed that Recreation Services Inc. had replaced some of the state/nat'l forest services. they were allowing a Jeep commercial to be filmed, in water, at the base of the Sawtooth Mountains. COMPLETELY ILLEGAL according to the posted rules. they had also blocked off part of the access road so they could film their commercial undisturbed.

my buddy and i inquired as to the legality of the commercial and were given a rude brush-off from the Recreation Services boss, who was a sinister character. we decided to have some fun with him.

we went back to the access road entrance and removed the signs/ropes that blocked access to their commercial. then we hiked in and after setting up our camp, i was forced to scream "this isn't a commercial!" several times, effectively interrupting their illegal commercial.

we were quite livid. they were breaking the law before they even bothered to change it. fucking fascists.

i dreamt that night, in the foothills of the mighty Sawtooth Mountains, a powerful a place as i've ever been, a place of celestial importance to the natives of the area, that i was speaking with Dubya in a sweatlodge. i was trying to explain to him the huge, monstrous error of his ways. he didn't understand at all.

thanks for indulging my story. i haven't tried to write any of it before...

3. George in a sweatlodge!
Dreams can be funny, eh? For some reason, the next time I start heating some rocks out back, I'm going to be thinking about that. And the thought of cheney & halliburton trying to sell fuel to heat the rocks will be there, too. Yikes!

5. it was a vivid dream, H20 Man.
i rarely remember my dreams and that one felt very different. i really really pleaded with the sociopathic bastard, but to zero effect. the only thing i was left with was that he doesn't know he is a racist murdering scumbag, which somehow made him even worse.

i was a mess that whole trip last year. it was july, right when Rummy was pulling back from the Korean DMZ and i was sure the world was going to end and that BushCo was going to get away with everything.

I remember breaking camp and returning to Boise to head home. We stopped for food at a big family restaraunt and when i went to the bathroom, i saw the headline "No WMD Found". i hootered and hollered all the way back to my table and spent the next hour eating and loudly gloating about the lack of WMD.

but, my word, you could feel the Hatriotism in the place rising as i mouthed off more and more. but i couldn't stop. i had been out of my mind since the invasion and the relief was pouring out of me in a mania.

anyway, just sharing some memories.

8. sometimes dreams
aren't dreams. But they are our mind conveying a message to us in highly symbolic language. The symbols are as powerful as they are obvious. I wasn't making light of your experience, because it's true, it's real. However, should we ever meet, and you are in a prayer tent (correct name for "sweat lodge") where I'm running the ceremony, then I'll show you a use for sage that might come in handy. (smile)

:toast:

You saw "privatization" of our national lands in action! I can't for the life of me understand, given that *most* citizens are very proud of their national lands, how they can be so blind to this.

Just one question...... didn't it ever occur to you, for even a brief nanosecond, to apply one of those hot rocks to *'s head?

Jes' askin'... :hi:

18. hey there, kanary!
i'll post any observations from this year's trip when i get back.

no, i didn't even think to be aggressive towards Dubya. the wierdest element to the dream was how EARNEST i was and, sadly, how earnest he was. like i said, he didn't comprehend himself at all. but it was like he was listening, or rather, like he was trying to listen but didn't have the first clue how to listen.

21. Well of course .....
People ARE machines. We are part of the organic machine, it's just that we have the capacity to be conscious. This is the message of enlightened people through human history. Think of the Hindu image of the five horses (senses) pulling the cart, with the man holding the reins (the brain) and the enlightened passenger, watching the horseman try to control the horses, which are pulling in different directions.

The passenger represents the potential for human evolution .... because there is no organic evolution in man (yes, of course there WAS) ... and so we need to be aware that the human evolution required for our species to survive is an evolution of consciousness. And of course the prayer tent/sweat lodge in your dream was just that .... a different form of consciousness. And bush, representing a huge segment of humanity, was as unaware of what you were saying as any MACHINE .... you can read a bible to your lawn mower, and get EXACTLY the same response that you got in your vision. Because unconscious people are mere machines .... and I don't mean that in a derogatory manner.

25. It's that "different form of consciousness" that I find so lacking.
sigh..... this is all depressing to contemplate, and what *COULD* be.

There are so many paths to different forms of consciousness, but as far as I know, none of those paths wind through the mall.

4. Imperial Pravda, like ALL Totalitarian Media everywhere is not permitted
to cover "certain topics detrimental to the State".

So, did you expect Imperial Amerika to be like the Free World.

What kind of dreamworld are you living in when you'd expect something like that HERE?

10. okay, Tom Paine!
I plead guilty to being foolish at times. Because after the 1960s, it should be pretty obvious that some of the powers that be just ain't interested in the Kennedys communicating certain messages to the masses.

I was talking to friend Pallas a couple days ago, and noted that in the past, when the British Empire was oppressing the Irish in their own communities, they (1) controlled the images in the international media, because like all dictators, they knew that if they could make the masses "hate" some evil enemy --those wild, sub-human Irish -- the other "members" of the empire would forget their own low level of being; and (2) they attempted to keep the Irish from becoming educated, for obvious reasons. The educated Irish created "hedge schools," where they where hidden from view, and could teach languages, history, science, math, and politics. And that's what forums like DU are today: our hedge schools, along the information highway, where we need to spread the messages that the swine from CNN, Fox, and MSNBC cannot report.

7. This is extremely disturbing!
Edited on Wed Aug-11-04 03:05 PM by FrustratedDemInNC
This book needs exposure, along with the corporate owned media unwilling to report facts to the American people. There has been a slow, methodical brainwashing over the years by our media, yet many intelligent people have become victims. We are fighting a cult-like mentality which will only get worse until true journalists can expose the fraudulent activities we witness daily in our mainstream media. It is a disgrace.

I'll get off my soapbox now -

I think this book is a must read, Robert Kennedy, Jr. is one of the few heroes left willing to simply tell the truth. Please email the networks, I know it probably doesn't influence decisions made but we can't remain silent.

Our best bet is Keith at countdown@msnbc.com

H20, will post from an earlier quote for those who missed it.

"book: Crimes Against Nature

See pages 183-186 of his book. For example: "Fox TV host Bill O'Reilly agreed to schedule me, but only with the explicit proviso that I wouldn't say critical things about George W. Bush ..... Later, Fox decided that even this was too risky..." Also: "I was most disappointed by Aaron Brown of CNN." Brown had scheduled RFK, but had a producer call at the last minute to "cancel" because he didn't want Robert to discuss Bush's environmental record on his show. Aaron substituted a segment on Michael Jackson instead."

If you have not heard him speak passionately about the environment issues and government you must do it soon!

He is a raising star that will shine as brightly as his dad and his uncle.

I'm going to get the book.

15. The only dumb question
is the one that remains unasked. I think that post #7 has a couple examples of how .... it's not often that a book of consequence results in its author NOT being allowed to discuss it openly on the CNN, MSNBC, and Fox programs.

But for a far better answer than I could give here, please consider buying the book. Robert gives a detailed outline of how the business interests keep not only him from being able to access the airwaves, but restrict groups like MoveOn, etc. He reviews the history of radio/tv, including the concept that the air waves were part of the national "commons," and were once required to give a balanced coverage to serious issues.

How many DUers know the story about Jane Akre and Steve Wilson, and their legal battle against Fox? Probably very few, and DUers tend to be better informed than the general public. But what is happening to these two brave and honest journalists should be the big 1st ammendment case, not Bob Novak or Time. What's happening to them is like what happened to a couple Chinese students facing tanks in their county's "commons" a decade or so ago. But instead people know about Michael Jackson and Scott Peterson's sexual preferences, because NONE of the media will touch the Akre/Wilson court case.
