JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - An Amtrak conductor has been suspended without pay for telling his train passengers that they should vote against Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry

Conductor Leslie Farr, who is also a Republican congressional candidate, was on a Kansas City-to-St. Louis train that was delayed to allow Kerry's campaign train to leave St. Louis and head to a Jefferson City rally.

Farr told The Associated Press that he used the train's public address system to tell passengers they would be delayed because of Kerry's train and then quipped that they should vote accordingly in November.

Asshole. See how he likes not having a paycheck.

"These people's lives were seriously affected by this, so I tried to defuse the situation," Farr said.

Snip.

2. well
I just can say that I had a very nice experience with Amtrak: when I bought my ticket to Newark, the conductor had a big "Kerry" button on his tie.

4. What ridiculous reasoning
I guess when my train gets held up by a CSX train, I should boycott all the businesses who use CSX. And when I get in a traffic jam, I should boycott every business who has a truck in the jam as well. :eyes:

I will never get over how amazingly stupid some people are.

5. Politics and business DO NOT MIX.
Edited on Wed Aug-11-04 06:10 PM by HypnoToad
Especially when businesses give some of their profits to politicians so they can have their way at our expense.

Our little repuke conducter is one I don't feel sorry for.

He can say and do whatevr he wants after hours, but NOT ON THE JOB.

Duh.

The opposite is also equally true.

6. Hmmmmm. Let's weigh the options here.
Our train gets delayed by presidential hopeful.

Our sons and daughters go off to war indefinitely and may return in a box because the current administration wanted to up their incomes and oil revenues.

Our nation is loosing one freedom after another due to the current administration.

We have the HIGHEST deficit in HISTORY due to the current administration!

Let's use common sense and vote for the guy who held our train up for a little bit, huh?

7. An Amtrak conductor?
Why would an Amtrak conductor support the Repukes knowing that they keep trying to cut Amtrak funding?

This makes no sense.

Then again, it also makes no sense for farmers, union members, truck drivers etc to be voting Repuke either, but many do. Gawd, the Fox News/Limbaugh/Hannity influence is a travesty.
