Just watched "Outfoxed" tonight.
Let me way how insightful and disturbing the movie was. The movie is clear evidence that the Fairness Doctrine was removed for the sole purpose of bringing the right-wing view of world and foresaking any other point of views. This was the plan all along when Reagan decided to get rid of the Doctrine. Clinton should have brought it back.

I wonder if Kerry would bring the Fairness Doctrine to the media? I tend to doubt it but as Jello Biafra says "Become the Media". It is great to see that Air America, Indymedia, and the foreign media outlets are continuing to bring real news to us. I came across a 1977 Time magazine that featured the main story of Spain's first democratic elections in years. It even made the cover. Now fast forward some 27 years later and what is Time magazine showing? Fluff! You have silly, worthless stories about how baby boomer couples are recapturing their youth by riding on Harleys as an example. Dumbing down the public strikes again!

Getting back to Fox News. I am to the conclusion that they are run by a megamaniac like Rupert Murdoch. I am also convinced that Bill O'Reilly needs psychological help. The way he bashed into the son of one of the 9/11/01 victims all because he opposed Bush's war was just disgusting.

If you have not seen "Outfoxed", it is your duty to get to your video store and watch and if you can't, go online and order for it.

John

1. Fairness Doctrine: Could I bring this thread to your attention?
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x2199280

It's about a very thought-provoking article, and some of the responses from thoughtful DUers were also well worth your time. There are also some good suggestions for action to take.

I'm very thankful that a kind-hearted person loaned me her copy of Outfoxed, so that I was able to watch it, too. I'ts very well done, and I want to share it with some fencesitters. I think it's great for that purpose! I think that's a big part of what we can do now, is spread this stuff around to help open some eyes, and minds.

2. I'm on my way, but I doubt I'll learn anything new, but I do like
to confirm what is true.

4. Let FOX news know how you feel
Don't just write messages on the blabber boards, sock it to FOX.

Write them or fax them your feelings...The more the better...

Tell them they get the Maggot Mouth of the Month Award....

5. I just saw it also...
It is scary that people use that channel for "news." You could just saee the hate oozing out of O'Really's mouth as he verbally abused Jeremy Glick. Glick correctly pointed out to O'Really that Bush senior's CIA helped arm and train Al Queda in the 1980's when they were fighting the USSR in Afghanistan. O'Really just dismissed that as a far-leftist position instead of acknowledging the truth.

I just donated my DVD to the public library. Hopefully it will open some people's eyes.

6. Disturbing
Watched "Outfoxed" last night and it was so disturbing I couldn't sleep. What a great idea about donating your copy to the library. At our library they put all donated items aside and them sell them periodically. We'll take it to the Democratic Headquarters and they can lend it out.
