The Radical Cleric Al-Sadr
I've been watching CNN-Asia, which is a fairly good news network. It makes an attempt to appeal to the world and not the US. But, they keep referring to Muqtada Al-Sadr as "The Radical Cleric Al-Sadr." Now, I'll admit, I don't know the guy, he's in Iraq and I live in Korea, so he may be a radical. But my question is,
"Why doesn't the media refer to Pat Robertson as the Radical Christian Cleric?" or refer to Falwell, or any of the other extreme religious clerics in the U.S.?

1. I said this yesterday but... it's simple, Christians complain
They make lots and lots of nasty phone calls and faxes and letters so news organizations learn not to refer to Falwell as an extremist.

Also, "good people" in the US disagree on if Falwell is an extremist and "good people" in the US agree that Sadr is an extremist. So, the media is telling you what the conventional wisdom is, rather than presenting, say, an independent opinion, which you might think is its job, but which isn't (the news is entertainment not a public service).

or bush as a radical madman?

seems like all of media has been taken with this "radical cleric" meme.
i know it was created in the twisted bush minds but why accepted so easily?

is it so radical to fight invaders of your country. who you see as religious infidels, mass murderers and looters?

If it happened here I wish I would be brave enough to be one of the radicals.
