http://www.atrios.blogspot.com/2004_08_08_atrios_archive.html#109233553725291110I'm not even sure what Atrios posted, but I assume it helped the Dems rhetorically, but turned out to be misleading. But here's the interesting part: he removed it! Can you imagine a freeper complaining about a right wing blog that said something patently misleading (aka, swift boat slimers). Check out the angry comments:
It's combat tours in the link.

Combat tours... not military service.

This isn't accurate
Eisenhower is an obvious error. Serving as SACEUR during WWII definitely counts as wartime service.
But Johnson and Nixon both served in WWII, and not at Camp Roach, like Ronald Reagan did, never leaving CONUS.

I expected better than this from a site that I've always considered to be hack-free. This is as clear a misinterpretation of the facts as the "Kerry 4 months" lies below.
Posts like this hurt our cause and I believe that most who read this post will take these falsehoods as "facts". Stretching the truth to make a point is clearly unacceptable from both sides.
I'm disappointed, Atrios. Shame on you.

Please change this to 'combat tours' as everyone says. If you don't, the trolls will come out in force about your inaccuracy. Besides, I believe that Ike did have some combat time in WWI....I don't have facts to back this up though, but if memory serves me, you don't exactly become a 5 star general unless you've seen some combat.

Look, Eisenhower may not have been leading a platoon, but his service was MOST DEFINITELY combat in WWII. Commanding three cheneying Army Groups is not for the faint hearted.
Dr. Limerick has screwed the pooch on this one.
