George W. Bush wants to raise YOUR taxes
This new national sales tax is a TAX INCREASE.

Why is no one saying that?

This makes him a TAX and SPEND president.

1. I TOTALLY AGREE
This is an instant tax audit, so to speak...does anyone have any idea what the percentage rate would be?

I wonder what loophole he'll leave for "his base" any ideas?

2. The national sales tax rate is 0.0% right now. He wants to raise it.

3. In the UK they have a 17.5% VAT AND an income tax.
So, if you got rid of income tax, you'd probably need something higher than 17.5% just to provide services we have today.

4. I'm thinking he'll set it at 20 percent
Additionally I am assuming the SS and medicare would still be withheld from pay checks right?

The IRS oversees that money also, so how is he going to "do away with the IRS"???

There is still going to have to be an agency to make sure SS was withheld, right?

If people think a national sales tax would give them a big "tax break" I've got news for them...

Again the people that have to buy the most--working, middle class types, with kids, will be getting socked the hardest.

5. With no income tax, it would have to be higher than that
