Prediction: McGreevy will backfire on the GOP like all the rest
Why? The majority - heterosexuals, really don't get excited by gay sex. It's a "who cares" story.

If he had an affair with a woman, it might be a starter, but this one will peter out by monday (no pun intended)

1. I wish you were right about this, but . . .
. . . trust me on this one -- we haven't even begun to see the crap that is going to be dredged up on this story.

I wouldn't even use the term "GOP" in any of this. Most of the stories that have been bubbling to the surface in recent weeks are directly attributable to blatant corruption in McGreevey's own administration and among his own supporters. He's got nobody to blame but himself for all this.

In fact, I suspect that a lot of this crap is directly related to plea bargains that these low-life scumbags are cutting with prosecutors to save their own asses.

2. I think Navajo is right. . .
. . . I think that the corruption here, and the DeLay corruption, will continue turning people off to the political process.

There's been a lot of dirty tricks in both parties that feed cynicism in this election cycle, as well as corruption.

3. I am sorry to say this, but it looks to me like he is using
the gay angle to cover himself.

It looks like he has been up to some very corrupt things.

I don't like him doing this. It sets back the cause for gay civil rights.

4. I think you are 100% right about this.
I was nauseated to see all these people praising McGreevey for his "courage" and "honesty" today.

Dumb bastards . . . Don't they realize he's made a mockery of the gay rights issue by hiding behind his sexuality to cover up the corruption in his administration?

5. Exactly
He didn't resign because he was gay. He resigned because he was horribly corrupt and gave a homeland security position to an unqualified man and then had an affair with him. Big difference.
