2. It wont hurt them, and it might help them a little.
It was a very good attack and could have really hurt Kerry.

4. True
My very intelligent, liberal husband doesn't have much time to check out the news, as he is in med school and works 12 hour days 3x a week and 18 hr days 2x a week. So basically his only coverage comes from me (thank god) and whomever else tells him stuff. So he comes home the other day telling me about how Kerry lied about his service, medals, etc. - all the swiftvet stuff. "This came from people who served with him, Lisa - it's got to be true!" he tells me. I went into an apopleptic fit, then explained (in a somewhat yelling voice) that it's all bullshit. I think in the process I told him not to spout Republican crap. The point is, if he can fall for it, the average Joe (without a fact checker at home) may buy the story.

3. I don't know...
but I am tired of hearing about Vietnam from all parties. I really would rather hear more from Kerry about how is going to get us *out* of Iraq, and less about what he did 30 some years ago. I would also like to hear him talk more about healthcare.

5. Never misunderestimate the power of the repeated lie

Even when the liars has been exposed.

7. Hardball on MSNBC
had them on tonight along with one of Kerry's vets. Matthews and Kerry's vet gave the swiftvet a good reaming. Called him on everything he tried to say.

8. Saw it.

it was great to see Tweety do some real "hardball" interviewing
of a obvious repuke operative.

But, how many of the great unwashed masses (Soccer moms and Nascar
dads) will see this. Most will hear about the book, read some
spamed email, talk about it with a friend at work somewhere, and
never really look into the facts.

6. And remember the "where there's smoke, there's fire" effect.
Even if people dont believe the allegations, it still puts the idea in thier head.
