The Email List
Sorry to be a bother, but could someone please direct me to the list of reporters email addresses? I remember seeing it not too long ago.

7. :) na, i made that phrase up!
speaking figuratively:

the links that go fast :)

sorry to get your hopes up, or rather, make you feel just that bit more stoneage. i know that feeling all too well - though often happily, i must say.

:hi:

and absolutely, :toast: to calimary for her generous efforts!

peace!

wow. see? * really did give the world something positive. how many millions get that private - if not howling! - ~~gigglesnort~~ every time they hear that?

then i wish it had been more than a flicker of almost hope!

11. ~~shake of the head~~ theerre you gooo aggaainn....
Did you like my pathetic King Ronnie impression?

"you know the links up top of the browser, under the address bar?"

No, daggnabit, you young whippersnapper! I have a stoneage browser, too! ~~growl~~

Nope, nothing under the "location" bar. Yeah, I could put it in the "bookmarks", but...... that is badly disorganized, so right now the chances of ever finding it again aren't *real* good. ~~chortle~~ Also, then it would take me out of DU to open it, and then I'd have to get back again, and my cane is wearing out. :)

Are you getting the impression I have a Flintstones computer?

:hi:

Kanary, who forgot (again) what the hope was....... :)

12. i heard ronnie before i even read on! excellent!
"so right now the chances of ever finding it again aren't *real* good"

me too! i know i know! i now bookmark into folders named A, AA, AAA,...
sigh

you know, mozilla firefox browser is free and easy to get and it has all kinds of new gadgets! AND a great online tutorial.

and very easy on our canes! (no young whippersnapper here, but thanks!)
this a pretty flintstones computer, but that free browser...

it has tabs, you know. very nice. you might want to check it out! i highly recommend - obviously :)

if interested, google firefox. and make sure is the latest, for the security fixes. 9.2 still latest, i think.

peace

14. ummmm, ya think we've strayed a tad from the "email list" topic?
What's the penalty, ya happen to know?

My browser is the old Netscrape.... 4.75 or sumfin..... I haven't upgraded because they put sooo much crap in 'em nowdays, and my flintstones just can't handle it. I can't afford to blow it up, because I have no way to replace it.

The old netscrape is getting more and more pathetic. I'm so sick of the "illegal operation" crap I could just :argh:

Sometimes when I can't get a site, I open my Opera, and it seems to usually work better. But, there are reasons I can't use *it* all the time, too.

I know that Mozilla is the base for netscrape, but I also understand that the later versions are also jammed with a lot of unnecesaries, and, again, wouldn't want to knock any wheels off this flintstone.

your input.....?

Or, you could donate a new machine..... ~~holding out hand~~

~~chortle~~

Thanks for the info!

Kanary, wondering what the heck tabs are for..... :)

16. ha haha! both hit the rules wall at the same time :)
do you pm?

do if like.

JohnDoe seems finished on this one.

tabs are fun. one window with many pages with tabs to select them.

there's a demo on the site. maybe just check it out and what capacity requirements.

i have an old crazy browser - has tabs too - but put firefox on my mom's and it was very easy - a while to download, but then easy.

there's some great cheap used computers out there. a couple years old for almost nothing.

i know it well, really. i keep this one up with maintenance because i can't lose it either.

peace

ohmy....... think my heart could take all the excitement?

I have to worry about my (tireless) car before a computer, but... maybe a used one would be a possibility. I think I even have someone to ask about that. thanks for the idea....

I dunno.... "firefox"...... sounds kinda frisky..... :) (Doncha hear Tom Bosley saying, "Now, Marian.."?)

Maintainance? What's that? Another kind of browser?

~~chortle~~

23. Netscape 7 largish, but functions well even on old computers
One of the computers I use it on is an old Windows 98, slow and only 96 MB. Works great. Tabbed browsing is very useful and lighter weight than opening extra browser windows. There are a few things to turn off. Most popups are avoided, but turn off netscape.com and cnn.com popups explicitly.

24. I had problems witha popup stopper before.... same thing with the browser?
IN other words, does a browser that stops popups have the same bad effect on a computer as a seperate program?

Could you be more specific about "there are a few things to turn off"?

Thanks for your info! I appreciate it.

25. The Browser only blocks web popups. You may may other problems
The browser only blocks web site popups. If you have popups when you are idling or running other programs then you might malware attached to your system from dubious downloaded programs or from viruses.

Do a search for Adaware and spybot, on the web. They will help you clean your system.
