"Death in Gaza" . . . HBO Thursday night . . .
I watched most of this HBO documentary and couldn't get over just how tragic that whole situation in the Middle East actually is . . . the film maker, reporter Saira Shah, followed three Palestinian children in the middle of all the violence . . .

it broke my heart to watch two beautiful 12-year-old boys -- Mohammed and Ahmed -- talk about how much they wished to be martyred for the cause . . . when you see something like this, you know more than ever that it's time for the human race to start coming together to solve these seemingly intractable problems . . . 12-year-olds should not be hoping to die early and violent deaths . . .

the title, btw, refers to the fact that the cameraman, James Miller, was killed by an Israeli bullet during the making of the film . . . his death reportedly has the two kids re-thinking martyrdom in favor of becoming cameramen . . . God, I do hope so . . .

I'm sure this will be repeated several times . . . check your HBO listings and watch it . . . very disturbing, very powerful . . .
