basic training, officers training to jump right into flight school. I was incrdulous when i first learned that. I did not believe that anyone got that kind of privilage-no matter their patrimony.

OTS or basic could've done him a world of good-taught him a little humility - the first day of basic we were told in no uncertain terms that we were lower then whale shit, lower than a snake's ass and so forth, and you know what? We believed it.
