Quick-acting Kerry performs Heimlich to save GOP senator's life!
Well, it happened back in 1988, but it does show that Kerry thinks well on his feet:
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Former U.S. Sen. Chic Hecht of Nevada is a staunch Republican, but he thanks his lucky stars for Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts. On July 12, 1988, Hecht was attending a weekly Republican luncheon when a piece of apple lodged firmly in his throat.

Hecht stumbled out of the room, thinking he might vomit but not wanting to do it in front of his colleagues. Sen. Kit Bond, R-Mo., thumped his back, but Hecht quickly passed out in the hallway.

Just then, Kerry stepped off an elevator, rushed to Hecht's side and gave him the Heimlich maneuver -- four times. The lifesaving incident made international news, and Dr. Henry Heimlich, who invented the maneuver in 1974, called Hecht to say that had Kerry intervened just 30 seconds later Hecht might have been in a vegetative state for life.

Hecht said he was amazed that Kerry acted so quickly -- some people were assuming that he was having a heart attack. "He knew exactly what to do," he said. "But a lot of people know what to do. They just don't size up the situation immediately."

33. How many lives saved opposed to .....
how many lives lost under the current pretender in the White House ,who seems to enjoy the death and destruction he has inflicted on many inocents !For the right wing to claim smirk has higher morals then Kerry, I say look at the actions ,not the words ,and then tell me who has more respect for the lives of others. The ? is a no brainer, that reminds me ,besides bush being morally bankrupt, he is also lacking in the brain dept ! I really hate the idea of the out look the rest of the world will have about the mentality of the American voter ,should this current gang retain power, by actually winning an election.

12. compare/contrast Kerry&Heimlich vs Bush&7minutes on TV == 2% bounce?
I would love to see some network and cable political talk shows do a compare-contrast of Kerry's Heimlich vs Bush's 7 minutes. I wonder if there are any pics/video of this Heimlich incident?

8. Wow, dumpster-baby!
Just wait until the Bush buttheads take a run at THIS one!

Well, screw'em.

Here's Hecht's photo. I found it with a tiny article which repeated the fact that Kerry saved his life!

Hooray for Senator Kerry.

9. I'd love to see Chic Hecht at a Kerry function
Afterall, a man with his very conservative credentials, speaking about what a great, intelligent and decisive man Kerry is would be worth all thew koches and millers out there.

14. I served w/ JK in '88, and NO SUCH THING EVER HAPPENED
He's a liar. I know, because I was in Reno at the same time as Chic Hecht in 1988, and I never saw Kerry save anyone's life!

Think I can get on Hannity now? Are there any other qulifications I'll need?

16. Why bother? As long as I'm just making shit up?
Why not, Doc.? You and me -- we can make a mint on having never seen John Kerry save anyone's life. I never saw him perform the Heimlich maneuver, I never saw him pull that guy out of the water...

Hannity and FR are aiming too low; we should get some of Scaife's money. We could make millions on having -- personally, mind you, personally -- not witnessed things. Why, just think of all the things you or I haven't witnessed!

Unlike Bush, who giggles as he executes the retarded and sends 600 Americans to their deaths to fight a non-existant threat.

Or maybe he'd have just been dead drunk, asleep on a couch, or screaming at Judy Woodruff's kid...

34. "The lifesaving incident made international news,"?
Was this on the news? First I heard of it. All I keep hearing is how macho-man Cheney keeps ridiculing war-hero Kerry as "too sensitive."

Sorry but this story sounds so good it smells fishy. I mean, Dr. Heimlich himself calls to confirm the victim was half a minute from doom?

and the story is in the Las Vegas Sun, the major Nevada newspaper....

If you could just manage to compare the 7 minutes to the Heimlich incident on national tv, Kerry could grab a lot of votes.
