McGreavey update on local news | NO lawsuit!
they are now reporting that there is no lawsuit, no charges of sexual harassment and certainly no claims of rape.

they are reporting that the former lover was planning to blackmail the Gov. over his sexuality with the THREAT of a lawsuit.

he far from 100% pure (but find me THAT politician!)

I thought his speech yesterday showed class in a very tough situation.

no link. I'm listening to NY1 (local cable news station)

2. Thanks, Nostamj. I was wondering about that since the right-wing
idiots had to constantly talk about the "supposed rape or sexual harassment" etc. in interviews yesterday.

Honestly, I think there are more closet cases in the Republican party.

3. so... this would mean
that he was basically forced to resign!

Basically, resign or I'll claim you raped me.

Who is this guy? What's his motive? Jealous jilted lover? Some political motive? Paid off by someone?

Hmm..

8. No, it doesn't
It means, McGreevey was cauhgt in a soap opera-ish drama and decided to cut bait now instead of later.

No matter how this information got out, he stil hired his unqualified lover to be head of homeland securtiy.

4. Isn't Blackmail
a CRIME? Especially in THIS case? McGreavey should change his mind now. Withdraw his resignation and SUE the former lover for Blackmail! The former lover has been exposed. Was the former lover a repuke? I wonder?

5. Can he unhire him too?
I think McGreevey and his lover are going to end up neighbors in Rahway at this pace.

Yes, blackmail is wrong, but so is hiring your unqualified lover to head homeland security.

9. Pat Buchanan was foaming at the mouth over this on "Hardball" last night.
He was going on and on about the sexual harassment suit and the rape allegations. Of course, Buchanan is a hateful motherfucking homophobe, so I guess I should consider the source.

I'm glad to hear that their won't be a lawsuit. McGreevey did a stupid thing in hiring Cipel, but the speech was a class act.

12. Right now on CNN the repuke hack asking he step down
immeadiately. I think he should tell them to shove it. He did what was best for the state by calling the assholes bluff and outing himself rather than let the Govenor's office be blackmailed, while I have no issue with him being gay, putting himself in the position to be blackmailed was not good judgement, straight or gay an affair opens the door to this type of retribution. His speech was powerful and I think that New Jersey voted for a Democratic Gov and they deserve to keep a Dem Gov until the next election. Bottom line is when push came to shove he put his state first and that'sall they should say. No excuses just that the decision has been made.

13. Funny how the Pubs said Clinton woulld have been OK with truth.
All I heard for YEARS was the Pubs saying if Clinton had just confessed at the first hint of an accusation, he would have been forgiven and there would have never been an investigation.

Now they have a Gov. doing exactly that, and they want his head!

This shows me Clinton was right to fight them off, and make 'em prove everything.

I think McGreevy did the right thing with this! It was the only way to stave off extortion and blackmail. Bet his accuser is near the bottom of the vodca bottle this morning.
