How the British Peace Movement Rocks On
The British Peace Movement has really staid alive as a vital social, political, and cultural movement. We could probably all learn something from it at a time when it has become so urgent to oppose an Iraq policy that is becoming more catastrophic all the time.

There was a great 4 day musical peace festival in London last February, and it led to the creation of a website with lots of great music, lyrics, images and info: http://www.peace-not-war.org/Festival/index.html

For more recent events check out http://www.stopwar.org.uk/ I like the way they are taking creative action against propagandistic terrorism simulations exerices! Also they found good uses for "Fahrenheit 9/11" and are going to the European Social Forum.

These may provide inspiration to any of you joining the massive protests against the Republican National Convention in New York City! Or any protests in solidarity with the New York Protestors you do in your own town! Use every cool opportunity.

We need to keep the edge on our sensibility and keep standing up for what we really believe. Be aware of the tragic situation in Iraq which is getting worse all the time and having repercussions around the world. Keep studying the corruption and deception going on, as well as what it is hiding. Look for inspiration in positive movements everywhere. You can work with Democratic Party activities to get out the vote and get out the Bush-Cheney Mafia, but it's just totally bogus to defend any policy or opinion you don't really agree with.
