I read the artcile in Rolling Stone & have come to the conclusion Bill needs help. BAD! This man has SO much anger in him. I thought most people mellow as they get older.Does anyone know if Bill has ever foamed at the mouth?I mean that literally.Compassion & tolerance are two words that NEED to be introduced into his vocabulary.Fast!I don't wish harm even to the Hannity's, the Limbaughs, or the O'Reilly's of the world. So, if anyone reading this know Bill, pass it on. Tell him someone who disagrees with him is genuinely concerned for him & his well being. Tell him its advice from a compassioante liberal. but I have always found "shut up" to be such an ugly, nasty thing to say to someone. Even if you WANT them to shut up, I thought being on TV demanded a slightly higher level of decorum.

In my classroom (eighth graders) I NEVER said the words shut up to my students. I thought it was ugly. And I required that they never say it to each other in my room. Just poisons the place if you allow that.

I've worked with Domestic Violence survivors and O'Reilly fits the classic stereotype for abusers. Verbal abuse rarely stops there and often escalates to physical intimidation (throwing things, punching walls, kicking pets, etc.) and eventually assault. Anyone watching the Krugman interview could see the intimidation factor in play through his body language. When his verbal outbursts become more vehement, more frequent and are spaced closer and closer together, he's getting very near the edge of a physical assault.
