Is it possible for a not-so -bright, uninterested and incurious person ..?
...to be a great leader? If they were just a little on the dim side, could you possibly trust their judgements on a consistent basis? If they were uninterested in worldly matters and did not read very much, could you really trust them to protect our nation? If they were simply incurious and insensitive about other peoples around the world, could you sleep safely with that person at the helm? Neither do I...

3. Bush is Very Smart, but Vulnerable
I used to think Bush was a buffoon, but lately I've come to believe that he is conflicted psychologically. He may have some "dry drunk" cognitive and executive impairments, but they don't make him a dunce. He doesn't apply himself. Bush could have done better in university if he had studied instead of partying. He is no genius, but he got himself elected Pres., not his brother.

That said, Bush is vulnerable to being stumped. He was stumped for seven glaring minutes about 35 months ago. This spring he was stumped for almost a minute at a Whitehouse press conference when he was asked if he regretted making any mistakes.

He is also vulnerable to getting flummoxed. Many people get flummoxed when they get angry and become incoherent. Bush has a lifetime of containing various kinds of anger. He actually gets more fluent when he becomes angry. In Bush's case, flummox him by getting him to try to be sensitive, but do it in such a way that he can't repeat script lines he's memorized.

Stump him good in the debates.

4. Our world is too huge
and complex and filled with gray areas for someone who was dim and incurious to do a good job, honestly.

Insensitive? No. Not with all the weapons everyone's got laying around!
