A question concerning what the reaction might be.....
from "Joe and Jane America" regarding the re-implementation of the military draft.

No one knows for sure but, do you think there would be widespread resistance to it?

What would make you think there would be, given the apathetic nature of the citizens of this country?

Has anyone seen recent polls of the popularity of the invasion of Iraq?

1. Apathy
It would be the same reaction that the unwashed masses had to:

  • The 2000 Election;

  • The Economy;

  • WMD/Iraq;

  • Abu Ghraib

4. I have a question about the quote at the bottom of your post
Why do you have that? What is your point?

5. I am a big fan of "To Kill a Mockingbird"
And the line when the prosecutor tries to implicate an innocent man because he COULD be strong enough to assault just rings in my ears.

Have you seen the movie or, better yet, read the book?

I had no point to make with the quote; I feel that it encapsulates the idea of false accusation, however.

You're the first to comment on it, though.

Not that there's an award or something like that.... :)
