George Will column on BushCo credibility -- help!
It's printed in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Sunday edition, but it isn't included with his WashPost columns online, and I can't find a link to it.

It has some very pointed language about the "terra" alerts, the convenient timing (during DNC) of Pakistan's arrest of an al Qaida figure (announced at *midnight* Pakistan time, but afternoon in Boston), etc.

"On portions of the interstate highway system, electric message signs over the highway now say : 'Report Suspicious Activity 1-800-492-TIPS." ' But for many Americans, the suspicious activity they think they detect is by the federal government."

"So, for example, it would be well if Tom Ridge henceforth would make those grim homeland security announcements without including testimonials to the president's leadership."

5. uh.... bushco is neither conservative nor republican
they're FASCISTS and true repubs and cons are wise to it!

it's the blind 'base' (well, they think they're the base but * showed us all who is real BASE is... the haves and the have-mores) that think * is a repub/con

with Will's article.

http://mobile.azstarnet.com/sn/pdaopinion/33881.html

<snip>

A spokesman for the National Security Council says The New Republic's story is not confirmed by Pakistan's announcement on the 29th, the day of John Kerry's acceptance speech, of the arrest, four days earlier, of a senior al-Qaida figure.

The announcement was made at midnight in Pakistan. That was afternoon in Boston, where convening Democrats were suspicious.

Such suspicions are hardly self-validating. But the government should take care not to inadvertently foment them. So, for example, it would be well if Tom Ridge henceforth would make those grim homeland security announcements without including testimonials to the president's leadership. Just the news, please.

8. George Will is an old fashion Republican
and conservative. He knows what democracy is all about and will defend it when needed. Economically he leans toward business but I would guess that he recognizes the dangers of corporate abuse when he sees it. He also is from an era when people trusted the government and it was because for the most part government was still "by the people and for the people".

9. In the words of Kurt Vonnegut
George Will is an owlish nitwit.

This column does not atone for years of conservative dogma and idiocy.
