Because "stability" means ELECTIONS.

And given the "progress" of the occupation in restoring some semblance of normal everyday life for most Iraqis, I would say it is safe to assume that the puppets currently placed in charge would be ousted from power.

I would guess that instability will be the order of the day for quite a while, at least until the entire oil infrastructure has been rebuilt and privatized.

3. until we leave ala vietnam, there will be no stability in Iraq.
We stuck our neck into a trap and we'll regret it for a long long time. Why? We certainly aren't creating an independent, self governing state that was presented before the invasion. We are Fucked.

5. They knew that overthrowing Sadaam
would cause instability. This is what they needed. Aggravate the Arab communities around the area, war speads. State of constant war means fear, means money for their friends. Also spends down the surplus and puts the US in deep deficits so no social programs can be funded.
