Odd thing I noticed about Carol Lin of CNN recently....
Lately, her affect - tone of voice, the faces she is making - is in direct conflict of the news being relayed - this was very apparent on two major topics...the hurricaine, and the issues in Iraq. She is smiling and nearly giggling when reporting very difficult and often sad news. A person could actually accuse her of being flippant or uncaring - at least disconnected - ...What's up with that? I think that this network has completely lost its way!

3. Much like most republicans, the folks over at CNN
have lost their damn minds.

I would feel sorry for them if they weren't so self centered, their big paychecks will never buy back their lying souls.

6. Recently?
The woman has a permanent smile no matter what the awful news she is reporting. I can't stand looking at her.

7. I noticed that about her too. She uses her cheerleader, peppy
chirpy little voice no matter what she reporting. She is adorable but it is very unprofessional and annoying.

9. Inappropriate emotional reactions...
Are not a sign of mental stability. I wonder if anyone at CNN recognizes that?

10. She is a member of the New generation of Imperial Mouthpieces
She is a BIG Kerry basher and ALWAYS follows Uncle Karl's Rules for FehrUndBalanced Pravda Readers.

One day, she will actually be made to look stenorious and serious by the NEXT generation of Wholly Orwellian Pravdas Pigs which will be coming in a decade or so.

At that point, she will look like the Staid Voice of Old Time Journalism.

Orwellian Madness.

11. several anchors I despised WHEN I watched CNN
but I don't visit them anymore, on TV or online --
they're dead to me....

1. Carol 'Anorexia' Costello: hollow through and through
2. Bill 'GOP' Hummer: We're turning the corner, hope we don't flip!
3. Carol Lin: just obnoxious
4. Joie Chen: another just as obnoxious

Life is alot simpler without the SPIN.

Carol Lin is more than merely annoying. She is the ultimate representative of News Entertainment.

This fusion of military deception programs with media propaganda efforts enabled the Office of Strategic Influence to commission officers from the U.S. Army's Psychological Operations Command to work as interns in the news division of CNN.29

Eventually, the Bush Administration was burned by the political heat generated when the Office of Strategic Influence was leaked to the media. The ensuing firestorm of controversy prompted Secretary Rumsfeld to close the propaganda unit. Yet less than a year later, Rumsfeld stipulated that his action had only been symbolic, and that information warfare missions were still underway at other Pentagon offices: And then there was the Office of Strategic Influence. You may recall that.
And “oh my goodness gracious isn't that terrible, Henny Penny the sky is going to fall.” I went down that next day and said fine, if you want to savage this thing, fine, I'll give you the corpse. There's the name. You can have the name, but I'm gonna keep doing every single thing that needs to be done and I have.30

The political implications of blurring military strategic deception and public sphere propaganda are worth exploring, given Arkin's concerns about military deception that "while the policy ostensibly targets foreign enemies, its most likely victim will be the American electorate."31
