What Debate Questions would you ask Candidates Kerry & bush?
Mr. President, explain exactly how we are safer from terrorist attacks, and do you still say that another attack from al qaeda is inevitable? how do you justify these two opposing concepts, are we safer, or not?

Mr. Kerry, do you feel the level of nastiness and negativity aimed toward you by members of the right wing of the republican party, like the 'swift boat veterans for truth' is unfair if not libelous?

Mr. President, why would a man who is running a great nation like the united states, not ever read a newspaper? how can you have any understanding of world affairs if you never read newspapers or watch the news? Candidate Kerry is a prolific newspaper reader, and an avid student of civics and world affairs and has served as an elected official for decades, how do you, a non reader who has only a short political history in comparison, see yourself as more qualified to lead?

Mr. Kerry, you and millions of other americans were in support of the iraq and afghanistan invasions, but having realized that all the top govt. officials, including president bush had lied about the real reasons for the wars, do you now feel opposed to the wars and do you feel that we were all lied to? And why isn't this lying into war considered a treasonous act, worthy of prosecution?

........i'm just an old smart ass with no class, but i'd just love to toss a few queries at these guys. i'd love to see a bold, smart ass, no class reporter break bush down to his essential cockroach self and destroy him with 3 questions.

i can dream can't i?

1. Mr. President, you have not condemned the actions of those who have
questioned John Kerry's Vietnam service. Why not, and will you now state that John Kerry deserved to be awarded the bronze and silver stars and 3 purple hearts?

2. & does attacking Kerry's medals make up for your own dubious service?
and your alleged deserter status? do you think it wise to attack Kerry's military record when there's so much controversy surrounding your own?

Where is your brain? It seems to do a better job at hiding than Saddam Hussein did. . .

8. Mr. President, why is your vice president calling you a wuss?
Kerry 8/05/04
"I believe I can fight a more effective, more thoughtful, more strategic, more proactive, more sensitive war on terror that reaches out to other nations and brings them to our side."

Bush 8/06/04
"Now in terms of the balance between running down intelligence and bringing people to justice obviously is -- we need to be very sensitive on that."

Cheney 8/12/04
"The men who beheaded Daniel Pearl and Paul Johnson will not be impressed by our sensitivity," Cheney said. "As our opponents see it, the problem isn't the thugs and murderers we face, but our attitude."

9. Question for both candidates
How can a presidential candidate that grew up with extreme wealth, attended only the most exclusive private schools, vacationed in the world's most exclusive resorts, never wanted for any material goods, and obtained vast personal wealth through marriage, inheritance and/or political connections be expected to understand the problems and perspective of average Americans -- not the truly poor, for whom they likely feel sympathy, but ordinary, middle-class (or even upper-middle-class) folks who work hard to cover a mortgage, carry a car note and, if possible, save for retirement and college. Can you really appreciate the effect of your decisions on the vast majority of Americans who don't finance your campaigns, don't sleep in the Lincoln Bedroom and, while in no way poor, are nonetheless one or two paychecks away from losing their home, their car and their insurance? In short, you and your families have lived your entire lives with a financial safety net. Can you understand what it is like for those of us who do not have such a net? What can you do to improve the security and quality of life for the rest of us?

(Look, I know that the super-wealthy have at times proven to be effective leaders. But is it required that we be forced to choose between a millionaire and a billionaire? Must virtually all of our elected officials be grotesquely rich?) Sorry for the rant.
