Can you say massive database of tens of millions of men and women under age 35, keeping track of ALL your different skills?
I knew you could!
In the recent IRR callup, the job of truck driver was first and even cooks were recalled. And they would raise the age from 26 to 34 for men ion the combat DRAFT. WOW! Just when GenXers thought they were safe!
THIS CAME FROM A SECRET SSS 2003 PROPOSAL ONLY REVEALED BY THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT!
NOTE: THIS IS THE REPUBLICANS, NOT THE DEMOCRAT PROTEST BILLS ON THE DRAFT--THIS IS WHAT'S REALLY BEING PUT INTO EFFECT. THEY ARE "DESIGNING PROCEDURES" FOR THE MASSIVE SKILLS DATABASE AND INTERVIEW PROCESS AS WE SPEAK!! YES THEY WILL INTERVIEW YOUR SORRY ASS FOR THE SKILLS DRAFT AND THERE ARE NO MEDICAL DEFERMENTS FOR IT!!
The DoD has already classified linguists, computer experts and engineers as being in shortage. Along with nurses, I think, for the Medical Draft (MEN AND WOMEN UP TO AGE 44).
If Bush is reselected, those with the critical skills listed, and there will be a few hundred occupations listed, you will be forced to register on an SSS form at the Post Office within 30 days after the Republicans reauthorize the DRAFT so they can take control of the world's remaining available oil. Family Circle reported Rove surveyed the GOP caucus on the DRAFT and they all said they would reinstate when Bush asks for it. This secret proposal would then become the sad law of the land.
I've posted this before but for the sake of the newbies and those who missed it:
Selective Service eyes women's draft
The proposal would also require registration of critical skills
By ERIC ROSENBERG
SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER WASHINGTON BUREAU
WASHINGTON -- The proposal, which the agency's acting Director Lewis Brodsky presented to senior Pentagon officials just before the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, also
seeks to extend the age of draft registration to 34 years old, up from 25. -snip-
"In line with today's needs, the Selective Service System's structure, programs and activities should be re-engineered toward maintaining a national inventory of American men and,
for the first time, women, ages 18 through 34, with an added focus on identifying individuals with critical skills," the agency said in a Feb. 11, 2003, proposal presented to senior Pentagon officials. -snip-
Nonetheless,
Flahavan said the agency has begun designing procedures for a targeted registration and draft of people with computer and language skills, in case military officials and Congress authorize it.

Some of the skill areas where the armed forces are facing "critical shortages" include linguists and computer specialists, the agency said. Americans would then be required to
regularly update the agency on their skills until they reach age 35.
